For quite a while now, many restaurants in Oak Forest last only a little while but #1 Chop Suey has been in business producing top-quality Chinese food for the city. While the decor isn't that great and it looks plain on the outside, it shouldn't matter because the food is really good! Prices might seem high but the quality and portion sizes are huge. I recently purchased 2 orders of egg rolls and 2 large orders of Beef Fried Rice for 23.40, in which it fed the 3 of us and we still had a full carton of beef fried rice for extra late night snacking.
#1 Chop Suey is worth the trip.
The open kitchen concept is great. you get to see them at work. The food is very good and as a repeat customer, i have to say they are very friendly. They hire local kids to take the orders and they've been in business for quite sometime. I can't see how anybody can give them a bad review on being rude. #1 Chop Suey is #1 in my books.
went there for the first time since moving to the area...by far the best food for the best price, the staff was very welcoming and accommodating...I will defiantly be going back there again!
I'd like to add that I ordered enough food for 4 people, but I could have easily fed 6 with everything I got and the price, just over $10.00 per person (for 4 people)
Yeah, the first reviewer seems to be an angry person.
The food here is solid...not the best I've had, but def. one of my favorite places around here.
They use quality ingredients and have a good menu. My only beef is the Lo Mein...I like traditional noodles and they use the thin noodles and pan fry them...I guess this is Cantonese style.
Sometimes the food takes a while when they are getting slammed, but the people are always nice and the lady (I think she might be the owner) behind the counter always recommends something good...I usually ask what stuff is b/c I have no idea half the time and then forget by the next time I go.
SO, check it out...it's good eats.
I have no idea how the first reviewer can claim that there is little seating in Number One Chop Suey; for its size, which is decent, it can seat 24 people. Besides that, the majority of people order food and take it home with them. They've got pretty good food, decent service, and everything is always nice and hot!
