dangerously adequate

I've never been drastically dissapointed, but the food is consistently mediocre, service is adequate to good, interior decor is nothing to write home about. I live no more than 2 blocks away and eat there every year or two. Be wary of the other over-the-top positive reviews.

Me and the family stooped around here to celebrate my granny's birthday for the first time. We got a seat inside where you can see their bonfire up close. If memory serves me. I had the Chicken Brochette with Worcestershire sauce. The only techinal difficulty I had was with a fly that was inside and kept flying around our food for small moments of time. But all in all it's nice place to celebrate's someone birthday or just hang out.

very dissatisfied

I went there on 05/10/2007 and was very displeased. I went about 4pm. Only 2 other people in the dining area and a few at the bar. Yet service was slow. You can only order prime rib on fri, sat. and sun., so I got the rib eye. I asked for it medium well, it was brought to me well done. It was tough and took about 20 chews to eat 1 piece. I didn't complain, tipped well, but I will never go back and I never will recommend it to anyone else. That was my first time there and it was horrible.

Poor service and food
By ,
The wait was too long which you would not mind if the quality was good. The food was burnt, dry, tasteless, out of 5 people 1 person ate some of the food. The accomadations were awful and the manager was rude. Make sure you are very careful in what you order because they will not rectify their errors.

Recently went for my wife and I's anniversary. While the bar is noisy and the dining area overcrowded with tables the lighting is nice and low and the waitstaff is very attentive. The relish trays offering: potato salad, pickled beets, red bean salad and raw vegetables prior to your meal are fresh and tasty. The bread is also warm, fresh and soft. The steaks are dry-aged and very large. They do not season them so expect to taste the beef standing on it's own merit. When it comes down to it this is a practice in steakhouse basics: Steak, potato and a vegetable. Everything was prepared well, steaks were cooked perfectly (my wife had the prime rib and I had the porterhouse - both medium rare). The only complaint I had was that the steaks were brought out prior to us finishing salad/soup. But, I don't mind since the steaks were cooked to order. Overall, a little pricey but they don't pretend to be a something they're not. If you can accept the noise and crowd on a busy night you're in for a pretty satisfying dinner in terms of the food and service.

The service was fine, but the Pepper Steak I ordered was incorrectly cooked. Absolutely horrible. The meat was chewy and fatty. The tomatoes were raw and the onions and peppers were not even cooked. My $22 dollar dinner was fed to my dog. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Surprisingly EXCELLENT!

Looking at the restaurant from the outside, you wouldn't expect much. But when inside, I was impressed by the homey layout. The steaks are enormous and very tasty. They are expensive but definitely worth the wait. The place seems a bit too dark but as soon as you find your table, you will be too preoccupied in devouring your steak to care!

I went there recently for a friend's Birthday. The waitress knocked an entire glass of apple martini in her lap. She was very apologetic but Bogarts only took off the price of the drink and offered to have her dress dry cleaned. They never even offered to discount the price of her meal even though she declined the dry cleaning because of the make of her dress. What a way to celebrate your birthday. Anyway I had the bbq bacon wraped shrimp. It was horrible. The shrimp tasted like rubber and the bacon was undercooked. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Real Steak!: This is how steaks should be prepared. If you want to impress friends and family, this is the place! Great service, great food, great ambiance and price. You really get your moneys worth. If you are a steak person, try the king cut porterhouse! If you finish, you are the man or woman!
