Amazing pizza! One of (if not) Chicago land areas best pizza places to go. Been going for years. Born and raised in Chicago region. Have travel quite a bit and have tried pizza all over the U.S.. So I can say this is a good pizza. If your complaining about salt and grease then you shouldn't be eating pizza in the first place. Eat at home!
Good pizza. Better than Sanfratellos but not quite as good as a little known place in Chicago Heights named Faso's pizza. Aurelio's little ball sausage on the thin crust reminds me of Little Cesars. I'm a big believer in when you go big and expand your chain you tend to lose quality, which Aurelios has compared to the hey day in the 1980's. Overall though, still good.
I am giving it a 3.5. it does not let me but it gets the extra half just because it is a neat place.
I have read that you have to eat at THE originals of the big dog pizza places in Chicago. I have done that.
Got here about 130pm today. Still pretty busy lunch hour.
This place is just a real nice place with a real nice atmosphere. It was a pleasure to dine here.
I did order some extras here.
Had the antipasto salad and it was very lively with the real homemade dressing and all the ingrediants minus the yucky olives.
The bread they brought out was some well baked and wonderfully tasting bread. I think I could just eat the bread.
I ordered my usual sausage and cheese. extra sauce and well done.
It came in about 20 minutes but I was in no hurry as this place in just an enjoyable place to dine.
The cheese is not your usual mozzerella, it has some spices(probably oregano and such) and the yellow cheese which dont yell at me I just do not no which one. maybe cheddar. Not too much, just the right amount.
Sauce was good but just to sweet for me. Had lots of it and I liked that.
Crust was dissapointing. It was good but they make there pizza in a pan. Not just drop it on the oveen bottom and let er cook. I was dissapointed about that and it could be tasted in the finished product. Kinda like that place called pizza hut does with theres. Just put er in a pan and cook it. Less alot of the grease so she dont stick.
this really kinda ruined it for me.
overall it was good. I would go back and would go back with people to enjoy this place.
I think the pizza was good but again would be better with the darn thing being dropped on the deck not in the dang pan. Can you tell this bugs me. I even ask a restaurant if they use a conveyer. Now I am not sure if they do here but I did see an oven so they must just put the pan in the oven.
Give it a shot you will enjoy the whole dining experience!!!! and the pizza aint bad either.
aurelio's does have great tasting pizza but the the amount of salt is way too high. i suffer from high blood pressure and am very careful about my sodium intake. i would suggest to anyone watching their sodium intake to avoid this restaurant. after eating a pizza from this restaurant, i spent the remainder of the evening trying to quinch a tremendous thirst. they need to consider that not everyone needs or enjoys very salty food...........
I consider myself a serious pizza connoisseur and I just have to say one thing (although lengthy). Aurelios pizza in Homewood, IL. (which is the orginal) is not only Chicago's best tasting pizza but the world's best tasting pizza. Now a few people are going to say c'mon, how can you seriously say that?! My response is that I have traveled the world quite a bit since the 1980's; most of the time due to military service and every place that sells a pizza I just have to try it. I love pizza that much that I have to give every place a serious try but to my dismay I have been frequently disappointed, except with Aurelios Pizza in Homewood, IL. It has always been and still is the far superior tasting and quality pizza. Aurelios Pizza is second to none! I actually have a World's Top 10 list on pizza but I will not post it here because Aurelios deserves the respect of standing alone at the top. I still try other pizza's occasionally because I want to see who will get bumped on or off my World's Top 10 Pizza List. To this day, Aurelios has always been number one (1) on my list. I will never refuse an Aurelios Pizza from Homewood and I still take the long drive from Chicago to go there when I have a taste for quality tasting pizza!
Not bad at all. The quick delivery is impressive.
Friendly staff and delivery drivers.
Aurelio's is a good alternative to the cheesy pizza I normally drive to Lansing to get, which I absolutely ♥. Their pizza has more sauce than cheese, which is probably a bit healthier, and it's tastee, so no complaints.
