The food here is top notch. Not what you would expect from a brewery. The beers brewed here have won numerous awards for independent breweries with a new and fresh brew available every day. I would suggest trying them all but the IPA is my favorite.
We took our kids to Flossmoor Station and they loved it! The kid's menu is very extensive and good for kids. My husband loved the beer - he is hooked on the Station's beer now. I had the Southwest Flank Steak Salad and it was SO GOOD. We can't wait to go back. We haven't found a family place as good as Flossmoor Station anywhere around the Chicago area. And the kids loved the train - both the Metra and the small train in the bar area.
We stopped here on the ride home from the auto show, We were happy with the food and the service was pretty good. The deep fries green beans were excellent, the baked french onion soup was so big I just tasted a little of my entree and took the rest home. The Mrs was very happy with her stuffed sole and veggies. we liked it enough to stop here again. I'd like to try the beers next time. Based on some of the other reviews, we must have gotten here on a good night, or maybe some people just can't be pleased.
I like this place cause of the railroad theme. It's housed in an old railroad station right along the commuter train line. There's a stop there so one can walk off the train, down the tunnel under the tracks, and right up to the door. The restaurant also has a micro brewery no site, and most of the beer names follow along with the railroad theme. Next to the restaurant is an ice cream shop housed in a caboose. The food is very good, better get there early in the summer as it can get packed.
