Buffalo Joe's, Evanston

buffalo joes has good wings but the service could be alot better. when you walk in you do not get a hello and if you do hear them say anything you dont know if their talking to you or on their phone. i like the drum part but if i ask its almost like i asked them to do some work! GO FIGURE! my friends and i where just in there friday night our chicken sandwhich was burnt,the cheese was awful and the service was down. once again they where to distracted with their phones to notice we were ready to order.overall i love the wings and sorry if you had to work to satisfy your patrons

I've been eating at Joe's for years and years. Wings are good, mild, spicy and suicide are the three flavors. I would recommend adding some new temperatures to their repertoire , a credit card machine would be nice as well. They have the best burger in town, hands down. Joe's just needs better bread to put it on.

Good food from time to time. Wings can inconsistant in quality! Major set back is method of payment! You order your food, and depending on length of line, you can stand there and watch your food get cold! The order/payment system needs an overhaul. Also a big negitive is cash only! Come on were talking downtown Evanston, the mecca of dinning in the north-shore! And you can't pay with a credit-card! This place is'nt cheep, they serve wings for God's sake, the cheapest part of the bird! Compitition is needed!

Buffalo Joes has the best wings in the United States. Period. Better than the original Anchor Bar in Buffalo. Better than anything. End of discussion. They are so unbelievable and one of the greatest culinary delights you will ever experience... I no longer live in the area to partake, so Buffalo Joes wings tempt me from afar, mocking me, and fueling incessant cravings. I can't even eat wings from other places anymore... it's just not worth it compared to Buffalo Joes. Make sure you get the cheddar chips with your order, as it completes the total Buffalo Joes experience.

I had Buffalo Joe's for the first time last month and all I can say is those are the BEST Wings I've ever had! I felt like I died and went to heaven. I'm addicted and can't wait to go again.

I've been enjoying Buffalo Joe's wings since I was in college in the 80s and all I had to do was cross the street to have the best lunch in town. The wings are still tops, and my husband and I will make a special trip to Evanston from far away just to have those perfect wings again. The trick is that they fry them until they're toasty with crispy skin, and then douse them with a creamy, zingy cayenne / garlic / butter sauce that doesn't lose one whit of its flavor in its milder incarnations. The location on Green Bay Road is also good, although it's really takeout-only, and the staff can be downright surly. The location on Howard used to be pretty good as well but inexplicably offered regular seasoned fries instead of the waffle fries used at the other two locations. It's also in a rather more seedy neighborhood. For sit-down, go a little farther and visit the Evanston location. Hooray for a decades-old mainstay whose quality and value haven't declined a bit!

Buff Joe's is awesome. Great food and fun place to be. Order the fries to go even if you're staying because they give you more.
