The food is absolutely exquisite - a bit on the pricey side but worth every penny. The flavors are balanced carefully and arranged on the plate with precision; the service is knowledgeable and genial - the biggest problem are the customers, who insist on bringing their behaviorally-challenged children (and babies) to the restaurant. Adults want to sit and luxuriate over a sumptuous and elegant venue and indulge in a bit of cheesecake at the end (they have every variety, including lower fat and sugar-free) but most children get tired and crabby easily and start making noise or running around and the adults want to sit and not be bothered. If you're on a date or trying to have a conversation with your companions, this is incredibly annoying. Tip: look for a seat near reception where high-chairs cannot be accommodated if you're looking for a child-free area. We were given a nice booth at the back of the restaurant and the maitre d' seated a pregnant woman with a man and a small child right across from us. The kid kicked up a fuss and the couple ignored the child. We asked to be reseated - wished we'd sat near the front right away because by the time we needed to move, the good seats were taken and there were at least three noisy kids being ignored by their adults, which greatly detracts from what should have been a wonderful dining experience. I'd give it 5 stars if they'd seat all the kids in one area that the rest of us could avoid if we chose.
My goal was a great lunch after 3 hours of shopping at IKEA. Three of us (girls) had an appetizer to share, soup & salad, chopped salad, and the luncheon pasta with chicken and sun dried tomatoes. All very scrumptious.
one PROBLEM. I went to the cheescake area and ordered 6 pieces of various kinds to go. Upon reaching home, back in Wisconsin--I was very sad to find we had only 5 pieces, but were charged for 6.
Just a warning to anyone else getting several slices to go....
If I could give the Cheesecake Factory 6 stars I would. I LOVE this place! This is one of the reasons I like coming up to the Chicago area, because we don't have one of these restaurants where I live. Everytime I have gone here I have always loved it. The waiters are always friendly, and it is true you have to wait for a table, but it is worth it! Last time I went here I ordered the four cheese pasta, and it had to be one of the best foods I've had in a while. The cheesecake can't be beat either! I recommend this place 100 percent.
The last time I ate at Cheesecake in Schaumburg, I got really sick that nite. And my lunch companion ordered exactly the same salad I did, and she got sick at the same time I did. I don't trust this place, and I think the only thing they care about is getting as much of your $$$$$ as they can, as quickly as they can.
I went here with about 6 of my friends and the service was great. The atmosphere was wonderful because it made my table feel like we the only ones in the restaurant. Really great food and loved the cheesecake desserts.
