Yen Ching is one of my favorite restaurants--Marilyn and John are the owners and they pride themselves on quality of both the food, which is outstanding, and the service is fast and great. The price is right and you get a lot of food and value for your money--my favorite is that they tailor the food to what you want--my favorite is mongolin beef and I have them add shrimp--great service, great food and really great owners that are always glad to see you and make you part of their big family of patrons!!
We've been going here for years and the food is always consistantly good. we always have to have the egg drop soup! Marilyn and her family make you feel at home. Their family has grown up with our community and all the patrons. For a good authentic Chinese meal this is the real deal. Warm fiendly service, good prices and lots to eat.
I love Chinese food and I just moved into the Dekalb area. The service is friendly and prompt, but the food left a lot to be desired. The price was high and the food bland. I will not eat at this place again.
We have been here many of times. This is the best chinese resturaunt i found.Ive even been to other states and nothing compares to Marilyn and her service with a smile. She memorizes the order and brings it correctly everytime.Nobody can top the crab rangoon anywhere! We wanted her to cater our wedding. We will revisit many more times. For those who gave 1star u dont have the taste for whats good.
After reading the majority of positive reviews on Yen Ching, I was excited to try it for dinner. To be honest, I was pretty disappointed in not only the food, but also the price. Our two meals came with only one shared portion of white rice and no egg rolls. I paid $27 for two meals of average portion size. Compare that to other Chinese restaurants where two people can order more than enough food for $15, or the China Buffet ten minutes away, where $27 will get two people an all you can eat ticket. And besides – who puts chicken and vegetables in egg drop soup?
I love this restaurant. The food is all prepared fresh and tastes wonderful. Marilyn, an owner and the waitress, is phenomenal, by far the best waitress I've found. You haven't eaten egg drop soup until you've had egg drop soup there!
It is THE BEST Chinese restaurant in town. i really loved the friendly, yet professional service, they made me feel like i was dining at a close friend's house. the authentic atmosphere and the decor makes the whole experience even more engaging. and of course, the food. they'll gladly accommodate just about every request you have...allergic to peanuts, no problem, don't want msg, don't have to say another word, want it spicy, BAM, they'll kick it up a notch. the portions are very, very generous, and just about everything tastes amazing. if you like pork, i recommend the Twice Cooked Pork. if you like shrimp, definitely try the Princess Prawns. Can't go wrong with Mogolian Beef, or kon pao chicken. you have to try their crabmeat rangoon...it is to die for.
i guess i can sum it up by saying that i live in the city, and i drive an hour to dekalb at least once a month to get my fix...that should say something about how great Yen Ching in dekalb is.
