Bob Chinn's Crab House, Wheeling

Wife and I were very much disappointed again tonight. The manager met us at the head of the line without smile, nor greetings. Both of our orders were extremely poor taste, very salty. The steak was tasteless and like a cardboard; fish was extremely salty. We both got up at about 2 O'Clock in the morning, couldn't sleep and very thirsty. Servers and workers at the restaurant were not as good as in the past. Being Asians and regular customers since 1988, we were sorry to witness this place taking a big dive in all quality in the last year or two. We got disappointed too many times. Our opinions are that the food and services are very poor and not worth it.

We come here once in a while over the past 10 years or so. I did notice that the lines have gotten smaller and the the place is now less crowded. It may be the economy or that the food/service has gotten sloppy. It s most likely both. The service has gotten slow and a little indifferent. The food also suffered somewhat from higher prices and less consistent results. On few occasions the meat was either undercooked or overcooked. We have not noticed a change in the quality of the seafood. There was a health related issue lately; a few people have gotten sick from the food and the health department was involved. This incident definitely raised a red flag. As one reviewer noted, some of the food is served on wooden plates and the cleanliness of them is a concern. There are not many places where you can get a nicely prepared Alaskan king crab and aged flavorful steak. There are issues, however we may still return.

THEY MOVE YOU LIKE CATTLE IN THERE, NO BIG SHAKES, TOO EXPENSIVE, GO TO DOVER STRAITS.

I developed a terrible red rash all over my body after eating a meal at Bob Chinn's restaurant in Wheeling. This never happened to me before. I suppose I am allergic to something but I don't know what it could be.

There is nothing better then being filed in line like your at Great America and paying BIG $$$$ to eat off of plastic plates. The MIGRAIN of the evening was the NEVER ENDING LOUP OF JULIO IGLASIAS MUSIC!!! The staff said it was pure torture because they have to listen to it day and night. : (

My Wife and I wanted to finish the year out with something Seafood related 12/31 we have always had a very pleasant experience at Chinns--No its not Fancy or Luxurious surroundings what it is Fresh Fish served in a festive friendly manner--We came for the Food and Hospitality. Jim Our waiter was very helpful and we waited a little extra so I could have Grilled Swordfish especially---My wife was very happy with her Crab Raviolis----That was a great visit and will be looking to come again to have another great visit as always--Oh the 1/2 size caramel pecan cocolate cheese cake was OUR way to finish it off----YUM again----Thanks Jim for helping us to have a wonderful time

I wrote a bad review on 9/9/2010 about the crappy experience that we had. now it's gone... Hmmmm, how the heck did that happen... BOB CHINS does not care about there customers!!!! What do they care, there is always someone else walking through the door... Your corporate dept. should be working at Wall-Mart!!!

It is not like it used to be 5 years ago. Doesn't worse wait and money at all. The food was ok, you can get same taste in chinese buffett for the fraction of price, the service was ok, probably like some chain restaurant. The price is fancy, the food and service is cheep.

Always fresh food. Very crowded which makes a bit noisy, but there is no other restaurant better for a nice relaxed dining. I am sure everyone else agrees.
