Well i guess my review isnt that important because the owners are actually my aunt and uncle. But i can say that since i was little (i am now 20) i loved going there everybody is always really friendly from the waitresses to the cooks. And i must say i go to different mexican restarunts and nobody has good beans. i have not been able to find beans like the ones that my uncle has there. And there enchiladas are awsome if you have never tried them you should another one of my favorites is a torta with beans and cheese but you have to ask for it just with beans and cheese it is soooooo good! Well i really recommend this resturant oh and if you dont live in palatine my uncle's twin brother has another similar resturant in des plains!

I have been eating food from this restaurant since I was about 12 (I'm now 37). My picky 2 and 4 year old love their beans and soft chicken tacos and my husband prefers their grande steak burrito with cheese. No, the atmosphere isn't all that, but it's the best food around.

Worst restaurant ever! The meat tasted like canned dog food. We could not even eat our meal and ended up going home and cooking a second dinner. Very poor quality food and atmosphere.

I love mexican food and Mexico Uno is one of my favorites! I buy their chicken soup all year long - potatoes, carrots and big delicious chunks of chicken. Anything with chicken is great - so tender and fresh. Their guacomole is the best. Atmosphere is nothing to rave about but I go for the food. We have always loved their quesadillas - things come not too seasoned but you can add your own heat with their great pico. Margaritas have improved over the years. Love this place.

I want to be fair and write a review that is accurate and reflects my experience at this restaurant. Unlike other reviews here my review will not be overly emotional or rated from one extreme or the other. First I selected this restaurant based on the excellent reviews I read here. I ignored the whiny boo-hoo complaints about the wait staff because I'm all about the food first and foremost. It is also my experience that poor patrons get poor to mediocre service. At best the food was average and at worst somewhat unseasoned. Starting with the tortilla chips when we first arrived I was disappointed we were served the hard store purchased corn tortilla chips you can buy anywhere. In fact I can and have bought better tortilla chips that are definitely Mexican style and not the thick tasteless variety we were served. The salsas were good but the odd containers they were in (two different bowls and a squeeze bottle) were off putting. My wife had a pork stew that was excellent and I'm sure their mole and stews are outstanding but my combination plate was not very good. The tamales were particularly bland and the soft tacos had little flavor or seasoning. The rice and beans were so-so. My adult daughter had chicken quesadillas that also were not to her liking and lacked flavor and seasoning. We are all Mexican food fans and my wife's grandparents are from Mexico but the food here wasn't as advertised. It isn't authentic, properly seasoned or as tasty as it should have been.
