North Bay Grille
The foundation of our success as Kalispell's favorite bar and grille is the quality and freshness of the products we use. North Bay Grille has established itself as a neighborhood favorite by giving our customers the freshest products. Almost all of our ingredients are raised and grown locally. The beef, lamb, wild game, dairy, eggs and most of the produce used in our dishes comes from local farmers and producers located within 50 miles of the restaurant. With intent to place minimal impact on the environment, our fish is wild caught. In addition, our cooking process uses no genetically modified products nor high fructose corn. It's all in the name of providing an authentic Montana dining experience.
Had an EXCELLENT meal last night at NBG... ate in the bar... had the duck! It was SO fabulous... love their menu...always have a hard time choosing... love the steak toppers and extras on the menu too! Recommend this restaurnt HIGHLY for excellent service - I wish I could remember our waitresses name - 2 berry margaritas later and I m brain dead - but she was SO great and SO professional, NBG consistently has stellar food and a great bar!!!
Snobby, yuppie over-priced restaurant. Won't be going back. I ordered the prime rib-- medium well. I got medium rare. Yuck!! I didn't think they could re-cook a cut steak, so had to eat what I didn't want. Got a phony-sounding apology from waiter and hostess-- and still had to pay full-price for under-cooked food. My meal cost? $25+ worth of wasted money.
My wife and I made a 5:30 reservation for the North Bay Grill for a date. When we walked in we thought it was very nice looking place. We ordered our drinks which took probally 15 minutes to get, we ordered our appetizers at the same time which never came. With everything going so bad I timed out when we ordered our food to when we got it which took a little over an hour and a half. The wifes prime rib was way over cooked and full of grissle. Our server was horrilbe and not very pleasent, and never apoligized for forgetting the appetizer.
We will never go there ever again, and would not recommend this place to ANYONE.
Me and wife for our one year anniversary decided to treat ourselves to a good dinner. I had heard of the north bay before and it sounded quite elegant. Upon our arrival we were seated immediately which i thought was very impressive but, things just went down hill after that. After being seated we were asked what to drink. I had asked for a bud light and my wife a long island ice tea. 10 minutes later our drinks were brought to us which was a little irritating seeing how there was maybe 15 other people eating. We pushed it aside trying to enjoy our romantic evening. We ordered our food mine a steak hers a simple chicken alfredo. 45 minutes later our food was brought to us. Her pasta was cold my steak was warm but covered in charcoal which did not apply to my med-well steak. My potatoes tasted old maybe from a the day or two before. My wife ordered another drink and another 5 minutes later our server came back with some type of raunchy concoction, we told her that wasnt we we ordered and she gave it to us on the house and said she would be right back with another. She didnt come back until we ready to pay and leave. unfortunately we left leaving a bad tip but still reasonable with our stomachs still hungry and very disappointed. My advice is to never go there could have had better service and food if i went to burger king. At least burger king is trying to cover up there crappy food with a fancy atmosphere.
I've been a regular customer at North Bay Grille since they opened a few years ago and I've been a Flathead Valley resident for 10 years. On the whole, I have enjoyed eating at this restaurant. They've had their hard times and good times like every restaurant goes through. I went to eat dinner there recently with my wife and the food was excellent. The stuffed halibut was buttery soft and flaky and the steak was a perfectly cooked medium rare. Our waiter was sharp, friendly, respectful, and was attentive to our dining experience. North Bay Grille is a favorite of ours.
I wanted to take my girlfriend out to a fine dinning establishment after new years and tried somewhere new. I've drove past this grille plenty of times and decided to try it out. The place looks good when you walk in, very cozy and clean.
We were seated right away and sat for about 5 min before we were asked about drinks. After another five min our Bud Lights were brought to us. I could understand this type of service if there were 50+ people but we counted 23. After finishing one drink we were asked if we wanted another and told them yes one Bud Light. After another 5 min they brought us a Bud Light with Clamato. I told them that's not what I was drinking and they went to get another one which also took about 3-5 min.
My dinner salad showed up and they had already put the dressing on it which wasn't acceptable. We had to ask for more dressing and another drink for my girlfriend. Dinner came about 35 min after we ordered and the steak, shrimp and side vegetables were all burnt. Medium well shouldn't have charcoal on it and shrimp tastes terrible when burnt. We had to ask them for more dressing for my girlfriends salad and it took them about 15 min to check on us again. I ordered 1 more drink and waited another 5 min to receive it. I couldn't eat the steak without the drink because the burnt taste took over the flavor and I needed to wash it out of my mouth.
A man next to us told them they over cooked his fish and they spent most the time trying to explain to him that that's how it should be cooked. He told them that he's had this plate in many different places and never had it this way and they said that they were sorry and to try something else next time he came in.
They charged us for the beer they messed up on. The total bill came to $59, I've had better tasting food and service for $20. In my opinion if your hungry and want to have a romantic night don't go to North Bay Grille.
My wife and I were very disappointed with the food at this restaurant. It is unfortunate since we live in the area.
My first impression was good. The ambiance was comfortable and attractive. The maitre die was cold, not welcoming, and the service were strange, Disneyland style. We excused these as peripheral and unimportant. We shouldn't have.
We ordered drinks, mine a cocktail, my wife's wine. Both were short, mine normally served chilled was room temperature.
Our appetizers were average but again skimpy. Our main dishes were good but the sides were unacceptable. The vegetables were stringy and the rice was dry and poorly flavored. We didn't venture for desserts, but went elsewhere.
We will continue to drive to the towns both North and South of Kalispell to get acceptable fine food. North Bay Grille does not make the cut.
Their food and service are the best I have ever had in Montana. I had the brie puff pastry and I swear it's what angels eat. Their Tiramisu was absolutely heavenly. Cold cucumber/avacado soup was so good I could eat it every day. Their wait staff was amazing. I can't wait to return! Very expensive, however....but soooo worth it.
The food is fantastic,Baked French Onion Soup, coconut shrimp, steak was out of this world, their blue cheese-walnut salad dressing is so good. They have Creme Brulle also excellent(if you have room that is)I have eaten there many times, never been dissapointed, there is a full bar,Pina Colada better than any in Cabo. The staff spoil you, romantic yet great for a family. Its close to major hotel in downtown Kalispell. Don't miss this place you will return time after time
