I have enjoyed Maries about 3-4 times, & I must give Maries a great rating. Hundreds of miles from a metropolis, and I can enjoy the best Italian that makes me go Mmmmmmm. The environment also makes us feel special.
I live close by, but save this place for special celebrations, like my 5th Anniversary coming up. I'm there. I'll update my rewiew then.
Service was very good. Depending on what someone chooses, food can be very good or non-descript. Absolutely not better than the food in Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, etc. Many of the dishes are merely X covered in whipping cream and/or butter. The freshness of the food, however, is noteworthy. The shrimp and scallops that I sampled were fresh by most standards, and cooked to the exact amount of firmness. Bread and salads are as others have noted-- very good. I would give it a higher rating except for the lack of flavor.
This place was awful!!!!! I don't know how anyone could say this is the best italian joint west of the east coast. The owner is a rude jerk and the rest of the family members who do work there are rude and very ill mannered!!! I would never recommend it to anyone unless you want over priced cheap food with poor service
This is the best Italian restaurant west of Boston or New York City, I guarentee you. The food is fresh, seasoned just right, not too much, not too little and the prices, good lord they are even better. They bake fresh bread, the salad is wonderful and the service is even better. You will not be disappointed.
Marie's has the absolute best italian food in the area. The food is prepared fresh every night and you can taste it. The staff was very friendly and I would recommend this to anyone. Well worth the drive from Missoula.
