ONE STAR FOR SIR SCOTT, TOO MANY...READ WHY!!
If you want a fairly decent meal, yeah, the Oasis is not a bad place to go, but great service, FORGET ABOUT IT. I have never seen such horrific service, from beginning to end. Especially the end of the meal. About a 11 days ago, a few of my family members (from out of town) accompanied me and my husband there for dinner, which I had reserved well in advance! It was a busy night for a Wednesday, but not so bad that it warranted what was to come next. The server never did come back to the table to see to our needs after we got our meal and drinks (which, by the way, were all soft drinks, no liquor), and was well into the half hour mark after we were seated. We no sooner finished our meal, and had finally been blessed with the appearance of our waitress, and was asked if we wanted dessert. It was brought to us within a few minutes, and no sooner had we finished the ice cream, when we were rudely and abruptly asked to leave our table, because 'others were waiting for it'. Well, you see that was totally uncalled for by a young thing called, ZENA, whom I sure has never been trained properly, or correctly in restaurant etiquette. A table of 8 sitting behind us was there when we were first seated. They were half through their dinner, when we sat down. Do you get my drift here? Amazing why a table of four was rudely asked to leave the establishment, well before, this table of 8 who were clearly done with their meal a good half hour before we were through dessert. At any rate, we were not disorderly, we were not drunk, we were not loud, we were not even wasting time after dessert, as no more than 5 minutes had passed when we took our last bite, when ZENA marched to our table and not asked, but TOLD us to leave. The shock of it all was almost unbelievable. I wonder if Scott had been there, if he would have approved, but then again, I do believe that ZENA owes the place. Our total time at the restaurant was no more than an hour and a half. We were not even offered coffee after dessert, as the waitress just walked by hurriedly and left our ticket on the table. In all the years that my family has supported the OASIS in Manhattan, MT, have we ever been treated with such disrespect and total rudeness. We have always enjoyed going there, but I can tell you that we'll NEVER go back. They say you can give a business a $100 worth of free advertising, whether it be good or bad. It will be a given that my family, now along with others we have shared this story with, will give Sir Scott's Oasis Steakhouse more than his share of free advertising, and I'm afraid that it's not good!!
I don't believe that Scott will even read this, and if he does, will he care! I am just warning all of you who ever make it to this establishment, eat fast and don't ask for anything more.
As for ZENA, I only hope this poor, young thing will learn early enough in life how to treat people, especially when they help to pay her wages. How sad, that in our society has the 'get 'em in, and get 'em out' policy has taken hold. What ever happened to quality customer satisfaction and service? Sir Scott my $100 is buying you more than you asked for, and I only hope you will appreciate the returns. One more thing, please read the Bozeman Chronicle on the opinion page soon!
