Sanders 1907 Restaurant, Grand Forks

Sanders is a perfect restaurant for a special dinner. The atmosphere is very nice. The food is wonderful!

I love going to Sanders for special occasions. It is a great place to sit and relax and visit. I love when they have a pianist in house, it is so different than any other place in town. Kim Holmes (owner) is a great guy that makes a point to come out into the dining area in his funky pants and make sure the diners are enjoying themselves. It is a great personal touch.

seriously the best one in grand forks. probably the best one in all of ND! it can probably even compete with other great restaurants in major metropolitan cities. but this may prove to be more pleasant b/c of no worries about parking. (we used to live in NY and we hated the parking situation. you can drive around a few city-blocks for 30 min and still not find great parking. or you can pay $40 for parking at a garage that you still have to walk to/from. either way, an unpleasant way to spend an evening out.) the food at sanders is pretty pricey. (about $30/entree). but it's worth every penny. the ambiance is great too.

This is the best restaurant in Grand Forks, North Dakota, hands down. It's sad that this is the only descent place here - coming from the West coast where Californians actually take pride in making food edible (unlike here in ND), I put this place at the top of my list. There is live Jazz on Friday and Saturday nights. Try the wild mushroom appetizer to start. The Filet Mignon is very well prepared and made exactly to order. Try their late night menu as well, if you are on a budget. Their Prime Rib sandwhich is only $8! Beat that Applebee's! Service is excellent as they only hire experienced seasoned waiters and waitresses. If you go and the service is as well as I said it was, tip well, as the waiters deserve it. Wine selection is excellent. Expect to spend $100 for dinner for two, but it's WELL worth it!
