Great Happy Hour at the bar. Reduced price on appetizers and draft beer. The two appetizers I had were great. One concern is that the one bartender was too busy. They should have two bartenders.

Class, Taste & Value
By Tomteboda, 9/28/06
This is an upper-end (for Grand Forks, anyway) dining establishment. Lunch entrees will set you back around $8, and dinner runs about $14 - 20. The food is worth every penny! I particularly enjoy the pastas they serve. "After happy hours" specials put the appetizers at half price past 9 p.m. (I think that's the time), and there are late night deals on the drinks. In the four years I've been in Grand Forks, I've never had bad service once at the Green Mill (prefire, interim location, or current). The restrooms are always clean, and they're really good with groups and reservations.

A Great Payday Supper
By Eve, Caranig, 8/8/06
The Green Mill has become quite expensive since the fire that caused them to rebuild, but it's still a great place for a supper date. The prices are a little high, but the food, service, and atmosphere are great. "The Mill" is divided into a regular dining room and a sports-bar type lounge inside, and has patio seating available during the summer outside. I've been seated in all three areas in the past, and have been surprised to find that the service is equally fabulous no matter where you sit. This isn't the type of place where the patio or bar get "forgotten" by the servers, or where service is slower in these areas. For a night out for two, I'm personally partial to the patio when it is available, but only because it offers the fresh air and quieter atmosphere than inside. The food is spendy, but fabulous. Portions are ample, especially if you are getting a pasta dish. Most of the entrees either I or my companions have chosen are too large for one sitting, so plan on a doggy-bag. The Tortellini with Prosciuto and Mushrooms are especially good, but are definitely a meal-for-two, or a "lunch for tomorrow, too" entree. For a lighter option, check out the appetizers. The same quality and flavor are available, just without the belt-loosening portions. I especially love the Bruchetta Pomodora. Delivery is also available for a $3 fee, which is a great option if you want to order for lunch at work or a meeting. Delivery can take quite a while, though, and I've typically been quoted a wait time of 45 minutes to 1 hour for this service, so plan ahead if you want delivery. Sure, the Green Mill has become one of the spendier restaurants in town. However, the great service and food make up for it. As a "date restaurant," one doesn't mind paying a bit extra for what is provided. I do feel personally that the prices are the only drawback here, but in this case you do get what you pay for.

Good food...not so great value anymore!
By Tanya M, 4/13/06
I loved the old Green Mill...pre fire...but since they rebuilt they have raised proces and it is really over priced I feel. I am a huge fan of their food and big beers, great happy hour, but normal prices are too high.

good food
By William, 4/13/06
I have been there 3 times now, and each time I have been very impressed with the quallity of the food. This last time, I ordered a sample platter of buffalo wings, it came in a 3 tier plate setting, very nice. Those wings are great!!!

Great Place...but watch it!
By StrawberrySmurf, 10/13/05
The new green mill on columbia looks fantastic! Hard to go for a quiet dinner date if thats what you are looking for as the waitress may seat you smack in the middle out in front of everything. Watch out for that Desert Fire pasta! it tastes great, but is kinda hot and gets your tummy turning from all that fire! But i cant wait to go back again for the good food, the great atmostphere and great drinks!

charged for extra drinks TWICE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/19/05
2 times in a row when I have been to the Green Mill I have been charged for extra items I did not purchase. The first time it was 2 beers...when I was drinking mixed drinks. The 2nd time it was 1 beer, when I was drinking a tea. I do not know how it is getting confused or if the servers are trying to pull a fast one to make a few extra bucks. PROS: great food CONS: charged for extra items I never received.
