Philly Ted's Cheesesteak, Rapid City

Hands down the Best sandwich in the Black Hills!! As a Rapid City native living in another state, I make the trip back about 4 times a year, and every time, I eat at Philly Ted s a minimum of 2 times, sometimes more!! As a Foodservice Manager, I know good food and good operations, and Philly Ted s is among the best I ve ever seen!!! You have NOT had a Philly Cheesesteak until you ve eaten here; freshly cooked juicy steak, and cheese whiz on a freshly baked in house roll? It s seriously hard to describe in a review. Just trust me and try it; you ll be glad you did! One Caveat: In the words of Ted himself, A Philly Cheesesteak is not fast food, it s cooked-to-order steak on a roll . SO in other words, every time you eat there, you get a hot, fresh, quality product that is cooked when you order it. And yes, that does take time. You will NOT get out of there in under 5 minutes. Period. During the Lunch Rush, expect a 10-20 minute wait (they do accept call in orders, but I m not sure if there s a minimum). For me, it s well worth a little bit of time; I eat out a LOT, and having worked in the food business for almost a decade, I have rather firm opinions of what constitutes good service and good food. I can honestly say that I have never once been disappointed at Philly Ted s- something I can t say for anywhere else.

Great food and friendly people. Only complaint is that we ordered ahead of time and the staff didn't have it prepared by the time we asked, which was a couple of hours. They started making the food when we got there so we had to wait, very irritated by that!! Other than that, it was good.

My family and I enjoy going to Philly Ted's. told my husband the other day i would like him better if he was covered in cheese ziz

I was born and raised in Philly. Ted's place is as good as South Philly without the attitude. Try it if you want a real philly experience.

The food there is Fantastic. I highly recommend the Cardinal its great. If you haven't tried Philly Ted's food you are missing out. The staff is very friendly and polite

Closest thing to a cheese steak you’ll get without having to travel far, best sandwiches in the hills.

Food is fresh and good. Lots of options. Ted mans the grill himself, with some help. A great place to be a regular.
