On average, I eat at Guadalajara's about once a month, since 2005. It's my favorite restaurant in Pierre. The atmosphere is relaxing and festive, the service is quite good, the food is excellent, plentiful and quick; usually can't finish the chips and salsa before they bring my food. Speaking of chips and salsa...their chips are addictive. They have two types of salsa, mild and hot. They will automatically give you mild, but you have to ask for the hot. I find the mild salsa tastes good, but it is a little too thin for me. The hot salsa is just the right consistency, but almost tastes too salty and it's too hot for me. Shouldn't gripe about that stuff, because it's complimentary anyway. Although, if I was critical of the restrooms, it would be they could use an update. Overall, I give the restaurant three thumbs up. Mucho gracias Guadalajara amigos and amigas!
When at this restaurant a few days ago, I experienced the poorest service I have ever received, ANYWHERE. There were only 4 tables of customers, and the only other one who hadn't been served was right by me and came in after me. He took that order, went back to the server work area, and did absolutely nothing. It was when he was talking to another worker and looking over at me that I decided I'd get no service and just walked out. Any customer deserves better treatment than that. There is no excuse.
Also, the restroom is a complete mess...the doors don't close properly and one stall door is actually nearly a foot off the frame - therefore absolutely impossible to close or lock.
I have no intention of ever darkening the door of that place again.
