Buca Di Beppo, Eden Prairie

The food here is absolutely delicious! This is a family style restaurant where you order larger portions of food to share with everyone. Because of this, you will see a lot of larger parties here which sometimes it makes the place loud and hard to hear the person next to you. The server we had was great, and knew a lot about the menu. But I felt like the servers there are too trained to talk your ear off and upsell anything they can so be careful with that. Nonetheless, despite those small annoyances, this is definitely a place I would recommend to people to go to.

We had reservations for a 40-person dinner party and were sternly told to arrive on time. When we got there, the tables were not ready. Once we finally were seated, we quickly realized that there were not enough servers on to cover our section. It took over half an hour to receive drinks, and even though all the food was pre-ordered, we didn't even get our salads for about an hour. Once the salads finally did come out, they were the wrong ones as they included a pork product even though we specifically requested non-meat and non-pork products for the numerous people in our group with dietary restrictions. Finally, after nearly an hour and a half, once the rest of the restaurant had finally cleared out, nearly the entire staff of servers, chefs, bus boys and the lone manager finally started serving us our meals. It was only later that we found out that even though this was obviously a busy Friday night, with a pre-booked Groom's Dinner, the restaurant's general manager had decided to schedule both a chef-in-training and a manager-in-training. Obviously they didn't care about the service they provided, only the expectation of a guaranteed paycheck. This was a once-in-a-lifetime occasion and it was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I will never go back, and I hope to implore anybody seeking a memorable experience (a good one) to choose a different establishment for your event. With so many restaurants serving much better Italian food than Buca, I can't imagine that it will be a very difficult undertaking to find a suitable alternative.

Had a pizza and Ceasar Salad. The small Ceasar salad was $9.99 and was supposed to be for 2 people. It really was enough for 3 or 4 people. Try it for yourself.

The ambiance of this place is first rate and starts the moment you get to the door. These people are not shy about informing you of the quality of their food. Everything about this place is fun. It's like visiting your favorite aunts house, you know, the one who never throws anything away and insists on display every nick-nack she brought over from Italy. This place is a must see!!!
