Possibly the best atmosphere and food in the Twin Cities...and we think we have been to all of them. Their bar is second to none. They have everything one can think of to enjoy. Their wait staff is excellent albeit a little too "stuffy" for my taste at times. Try their chocolate/raspberry cake...a one-of-a-kind desert that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Whoever the Chef is does a remarkable job in preparing this wonderful cake/desert. Their salmon is fabulous as are their steaks. Be sure to use the valet parking as the cost is minimal to have you car parked out in front for a small tip. Get a table in the very back end of the restaurant and you can see over the park to the Ordway Theatre. (I used to caddy for Mr. Ordway at the White Bear Yacht Club back in the early 60's.) Great man...but ony gave me a 25 cent tip for carrying his 55 pound leather bag around for 18 holes...and I was one of the better caddies in those days. But, back to the food. It really is fabulous! Expensive, but fabulous!

A gerat experience for our guests
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/19/09
The St Paul Grill is a great place to take out of town guests that want to see old school St Paul. It is spendy but the food was really good. Our server was very attentive and all around a good experience.

I'm Pleased
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/10/09
This was a pretty satisfactory dining experience. My meal wasn't amazing, but it was better than bar food which you find a little too easily around town. It had a nice atmosphere, and my waitress was pretty friendly!

Absolutely Wonderful - 5 Stars All Around
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/08
The St. Paul Grill has been a long standing tradition for my family. The location right across from the Ordway and Rice Park creates a great atmosphere - the outdoor gardens are beautiful. Food, wine list, and service are all top notch.

Love the Saint Paul!
By lise, 10/2/05
The food is just divine! Classics such as steak and potatos as well as great new ideas. Service is prompt and personable. Just don't go if you have a low budget for the night!

Nice Location
By Robin, 9/26/05
Wonderful location/views, especially at night when Rice Park is lit up. Service and food are sporadic, but it's always great for evening drinks.

Good not great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/05
I went here for dinner with business associates. The server wasn't great or attentive--but not horrible either. The food was pretty good. It was a little loud--hard to have conversation. Overall, I would go back but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Good Location average food

I love the great spot right across from Rice Park but don't think that the food is worth the price. Its good but lacks imagination and creativity.
