Staghead, Red Wing

Liked it and ate there for years but closed now, not sure why.

From the outside, looked like just a bar. And the name didn't suggest otherwise. My husband and I weren't real excited about the prospect, but decided to try based on a recommendation from the B&B we were staying at. Boy, were we glad we made that decision! Excellent food, nicer atmosphere than expected, good wine and beer list. Definately not a typical bar and grill, but a restaurant with a great bar included. Something we hadn't expected to find in a little town. A must if you are eating dinner in Red Wing!

We were there on New Year's Eve and had a great meal. We had a party of 4 and everyone got something different. A few of us had French onion soup and I would highly recommend that. The filet was unbelievable also. We were all very pleased with our dinner and we had a great time in the restaurant. We will definitely stop back when we are in town again.

We loved our evening at the Staghead. This is our 4th time there and it has always been a great experience. My favorite is osso buco, my husband loves their scallops. We got to meet the owners who take great pride in their restaurant. The service was great, the ambiance was perfect for a great evening.

Food was fantastic and fresh. Good selection of tap beer. Best latte I have ever had. I ordered two. Wonderful service. A recommended Red Wing stop.

It's a nice place (although it's been a while since I've been there). The most memorable thing I remember about the Staghead was a picture of a nude person on the wall. Even though it wasn't appropriate, it still makes the Staghead unique.
