Horrible!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!!! I ordered a reuben w/ double meat and a cup of french onion soup today for lunch, to go. I get to my hotel to eat and the first thing I notice is that my reuben only had two skimpy pieces of corn beef on it. If that was a double order I d hate to see a regular. Their version of french onion soup is onion broth, no cheese or crouton. I decide to make sure that that wasn t how they serve it so I checked the menu. They advertise provolone and parmesian cheese with a giant crouton. My biggest complaint is that when I called to inform them of this, Tory himself answered, and I told him what had happened. Instead of apologizing, he says, hang on puts me on hold for almost 10 minutes and comes back arguing with me. He claims his cook says he put cheese on my soup. I said, Well, I m looking at it right now and there is none on it . He keeps arguing with me as if I m trying to scam him for a free cup of soup. I said, am I supposed to bring it back on my lunch break? .....he had the nerve to say yes and if I was correct he d give me another cup of soup. Needless to say, I didn t waste my time with this jerk.
His staff could learn some manners as well. I asked the bartender who took my order in the first place over the phone if my reuben would have thousand island dressing on it. She replied, whatever it says on the menu is what it s gonna have on it in a very rude voice. So not only is the staff rude, they are incompetent.
When I picked the food up you could here fighting in kitchen and people yelling profanities. Not a place to take children that s fo sure!
Had Tory apologized for my sub-par lunch, all would have been fine. I probably wouldn t have eaten their again since their food is nothing special and overpriced, but it would have been nice see a little sympathy from the owner himself.
DON T WASTE YOUR FAMILY S TIME OR YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will NEVER go back to this place!
We met with friends for dinner and drinks, and we decided to try a place that none of us have ever been. At the end of the night we all have the same review. Torey's stands out as an exceptional place to eat. five star
The bar was well staffed, and they carried our favorite drink.
The menu was filled with chioces, and some thing for everyones taste.
Our meals were prepared to perfection, and we were all amazed by the
cost for such an exceptional meal. We will definately be stopping again.
Overall the food is okay here but would like to see more variety in their menu. Also am disheartened when I am charged extra for having steamed veggies in place of one of their potato side options. The menu needs to be updated. The service has always been good.
We visited Toreys today ( 12-15-07) for the first time and was very pleased with the service and meal. If you want a awesome spicy buffalo chicken salad, you will definitely get it here. And the fajita salad with shrimp was also great along with the cream of chicken wild rice soup! Our waitress, Cole, had a very pleasing attitude and was very cheerful. I heard Heather was the cook so she deserves recognition for a job well done. So Heather, as long as you are the cook, we will return! . A satisfied customer that will return for lunch again with Toreys.
We had two appetizers, pot-stickers and seafood cakes.
Pot-stickers: not bad (the pot-stickers themselves), but not cooked correctly, seemingly tossed into the fryer (should be crisp on bottom, soft on top, totally different way to prepare), dipping sauce just awful. Not the vinegar, sugar, etc. sauce I expected, sort of a thickened over-flavored invention from a tasteless and/or inexperienced mind.
Seafood cakes: cakes not bad cooked reasonably well but no crispy-ness on the outside, remoulade-ish sauce over-flavored, better with only the supplied (thank god) lemon wedge.
Kitchen seems untutored. At least at the chef level. Prep seemed proper given the mis-directions. I.E. the cooks are cool, the chef is not.
Nice place, good atmo, so much potential, service great, good wine.
Owa needs a really good restaurant, yes... come on Torey, make it happen.
My husband and I go there frequently. Toreys seafood is some of the best in MN. The steaks are absolutely great. However, if you are looking for huge portions, go somewhere else. This is fine dining and the portions are plenty. Torey also has an amazing chicken wild rice soup on Saturday nights that is worth the drive! If you are not sure what wine to have, talk to Jason. He is knowledgeable with wines and beer and they have a terrific selection. Try their martini menu! Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed. The staff is friendly and will make your visit special. If you have a problem, ask for Torey or Jason...they will take care of it!
