I am from Maine originally and really missed good seafood until I found Salty's. A new friend of mine goes there all of the time and just took me this past weekend. We had the best time there! Had a few tropical drinks at the tiki bar - ordered the appetizer Salty's Supreme Platter. We made some new friends as there was so much food - we shared the appetizer with some cute guys at the bar. We really enjoyed our dinners - I ordered the Prawns Key Largo and my friend had the Yellowfin Tuna Steak. I was really impressed with not only the quality of the food - but also with the service we received. I changed my order at the last minute and there was not a problem at all. The waitress was very nice and polite to us. I have now found my 'place' for seafood. Finally!
Salty's Seafood & Spirits has the largest selection of seafood in the Valley. The menu is huge and Victoria's specials are not to be missed. I dine at Salty's every week and still have not tasted everything on the menu. Sometimes I just fill up on the award winning salad bar because it has so many yummy choices - and it is always different. The seafood nachos are incredible. My favorite dish is probably the Salty's Shrimply Awesome - so much food I always have to take some home. Anyway, the decor makes you feel like you are in Florida. When the snow flurries start to fly and you're in Salty's -- well you really feel like you're in Florida. You can forget that it's snowing outside - at least for awhile. To sum it up - if you love seafood, like to be reminded of Florida, like tropical drinks and great service...you have to go to Salty's Seafood & Spirits in Fond du Lac.
I would have to say that even though it is a seafood place and people say that you don't order steak at a seafood joint and vice versa, the cliche doesn't fit. Their prime rib is AWESOME. Plus I love the fact that you have the salad bar that is always good quality. It's not like places where you have to dig around to find lettuce that isn't wilted. They give you yummy warm bread and event their deserts are to die for.
I absolutely love the cheesey seafood soup!! The thing is I don't care for the seafood. The appetizers are better than the main dishes. The restaurant has a nice atmmosphere and dining there is enjoyable.
