Angelina is by far the areas best Italian restaurant! The family and staff are amazingly warm and welcoming. The food is exquisite and the prices are great for the quality of dining experience! I try to make it here at least once a month!
This restaurant was recommended by the staff at the Day's Inn downtown Green Bay. I walked there. I dined on the back patio by myself. Every staff member made me feel welcomed.
The food was delicious and correct for the type of food. Everything was wonderful. I ordered the syrah wine and a shrimp/pasta dish that melted in my mouth. I recommend this place to everyone who finds themselves in Green Bay. I tipped 30%. That's how impressed I was. Even the busser stopped by and told me I was eating his favorite dish and asked what I thought. I can tell they take a lot of pride in what they do.
WONDERFUL FOOD from a real Italian family. I've spent years with my own Italian family attempting to find worthy Italian food. Angelina is great, and they acutally serve the salad when it's really supposed to be served in Italian meals. I recommend this anytime!
Obviously we must have dined at a different Angleina's than your other reviewers did....funny, same address. No tablecloths, cheap flatware, no prefix menu , noisey, cold, over lit room . We came early to have an adult beverage and soak in the ambiance, only to be greeted with the miniscule bar covered with napkins and silverware. We did manage to get 2 gimlets served at the table, one with no roses lime juice the other with lots, not a bad combination after we mixed them together. The wine list was interesting and offered a good value. I will agree that the bruschetta and pasta putanesca were superb. The secondi: a supposedly kicked up salmon dish that looked nice but had no flavor on a questionably fresh piece of salmon and a carmalized chicken dish with leeks that had over done and uncaramalized chicken in green wine sauce that looke unappealling but had lots of flavor. A unique dish that might had made it if the chicken was done properly. We skipped dessert or an after dinner drink, we were too cold and blinded by the harsh chandelier over our heads.
Go for wine and pasta...skip the meal!--oh and one more thing, dress warm if you go in winter months.
I have always enjoyed the excellent food although it is pricey. However, recently the lack of regular lunch hours has become ridiculous. The hours are listed as 11-2:30. However, you may show up at 1 p.m. on a given day to find them closed. Today, they were closed for lunch at 1 p.m. because they were catering a meal at 5 p.m. I used to be a regular customer (once every week or two). Not anymore. I'm sick of making a special trip downtown to eat lunch at Angelina's only to find they're not open when they say they will be.
We arrived for lunch and were surrounded with the ambiance of Italy. The food was excellent, but if you are in a rush, wait until you have time to spend there to enjoy and take in the 'pace' of the Italian eating. It's not 'fast food'.
