UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP Hello everyone! As of the Summer of 2011, the Nautical Inn is opened under new ownership! We have a more causal atmosphere, with a pub-type menu. We are serving appetizers, fresh sandwiches, delicious burgers, pizza, and a great Friday fish fry menu. The whole family is welcome. You can't miss our all you can eat pasta buffet featuring two types of soup, bread, salad bar, and a variety of pasta sauces and topping choices. Full bar also available. Come enjoy a drink in our beer garden!
I have eaten here on several occassions placing this establishment in the top 10 in Door co. Service by our server Stacey friendly, prompt, & great personality. My favorite is Monday nite w unlimited quality prime ribs and crab legs. Chef Andy's restaurant is a favorite of the locals and with nightly specials inc soup and salad bar how can u go wrong.
Visited the Nautical Inn on Saturday June 26. We had a party of four and were up for a few days of great fishing. Anyway, the service at this place is terrible, just plain awful.
Would be nice to say the food made up for it but that was disapponting too. Steaks were over cooked and the veggies cold. I'll make myself a baloney sandwich before I step foot in the Nautical Inn again.....
My husband and I had heard good things about this restaurant and were eager to try it out. We have been summering in Door Co. for nearly 30 years, so we know the food in the area. This was bad. We ordered steaks which were supposed to be signature dishes for the chef. They were good cuts of beef that had been neglectfully prepared. I ordered mine medium rare and it was well done and dry. What a horrible waste of a good cut of meat! My husband's was overcooked also. The side dishes of vegetable medley and wild rice had obviously been warming for too long. I will say the service was very good and I thought the salad bar, soups, and breads were lovely. Too bad the kitchen isn't paying attention. We will not be back.
We had dinner here on a Wednesday night and the food was good, however nothing special. It was very small town supper club right down to the salad bar with iceberg lettuce. Nice little place, just not our cup of tea. I can see how it fits in well with this small town atmosphere and there seemed to be a few locals in the dinner crowd. Our server was friendly and accomodating. Sorry, Just an ok.
Before our trip to Sturgeon Bay I checked this site for restaurants. I saw the negative rating. Surprisingly the owner of the Inn where we stayed said it was great so we tried it.
We were very pleased (and we are not easy to please!) The salad bar was well stocked and well attended. The service was very good and very friendly. I had halibut and my hubby had shrimp. We both thought our food was great. The bread at the salad bar was homemade and awesome. We also had onion rings and those were tops too. We understand this place has new owners. They are doing a great job. The only down side was the plastic table cloth. This is not at all in keeping with the whole scene.
