My girlfriend and myself just ate here this past weekend. The food far exceeded our expectations. We had the escargot as an appetizer and it was beyond amazing. The garlic butter sauce that was left over also doubled as an excellent sauce to dip the homemade bread in. We had both the New England clam chowder and the baked French Onion soup and we unanimously agreed that both soups were the best of their variety that we have ever had. I had the baked grouper and she had the stuffed filet of sole almadine; we both had the au gratin potatos as our sides. We both agreed that our entrees were easily in the top five best meals we ve ever had. Not only was the meal worth every penny, but the portions were exceptionally large for a fine dining restaurant. The wait staff was extremely friendly and prompt. I was still thirsty after finishing my beer so I drank my entire glass of water, the bus girl filled my glass before I even turned around to see if anyone was near to order another beer. We were hoping to check out the Spanish restaurant called Parador but it was closed until May, we were at first disappointed as we looked forward to trying it but after our meal at the English Inn we were ultimately thrilled that the Parador was closed. English Inn will definitely get our business the next time we are in Door County. I can t say enough good things about this restaurant.
