We ate at Walkers years ago and enjoyed the food. Myself, my wife, and our 6-yr-old niece recently ate at Walkers. For a Saturday night, we expected the restaurant to be full; however, it was less than 25% full. The facility was clean, but very dated (old). When we entered the building, we we uncertain that we should seat our selves or wait to be seated. The person who appeared to be the manager or supervisor never really responded to us. He and the staff were often just standing around talking. Our waitress was very courteous. Our niece ordered child's chicken strips and fries. The strips were flattened and over-cooked and the fries appeared to be frozen fries that had been heated. My wife and I each ordered a cup of soup and split a seafood wrap. My wife's soup tasted like it was from a can. My soup, a seafood chowder, had things in it I could not identify. We expected the wrap to be hot; instead, the tortilla was taken directly from the wrapper and filled with a seafood salad with imitation crab meat. My wife could not finish it because it was so bad. I actually got sick from eating the wrap. When the hostess/cashier (believed to be age 16) asked how the food was. I responded by indicating that it was some of the worst food we ever had. The hostess apologized, stated she would let the cook know, and took our money. As I waited for my wife to return from the restroom. The hostess never told anyone about the food. We will never return to Walkers.
Heard rave reviews about this place , so had to check out the Friday night fish fry. The waitress was very nice and helpful. I had a choice of 2, 3, or 4 piece fish dinner and opted for the 3 piece and fries...could've had German potato salad...wish I would've. The fish were the size of a small deck of cards and tasted similar since it was mostly breading and fried too long. The fries were few and resembled micro-wave fries and were also fried too long to the point that they were hard . The marbled rye bread and coleslaw were the high point of the meal but that's not saying much. Everyone I talked to before my experience said it is the best in town and you won't leave hungry....I guess I hit them on a bad day because it was far from filling me up and I was sorry I went there....it won't happen again.
