Had our first dinner at Capri last night and it was wonderful. The petite filet was done to perfection. The baked potato is served with sour cream infused with chives, which was yummy. The soup and salad were also very good. (You get soup AND salad with an entree - not either/or!) They also serve a vegetable of the day with the entree, and a relish tray and rolls. So you get a LOT of food, making it an excellent value. Our server was pleasant and very efficient. The host was very friendly. And we absolutely love the old-fashioned supper club atmosphere. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but we like anything retro. They played wonderful old music too. It made us feel like we'd stepped back in time, which made it feel like a relaxing escape from the workaday world. We will definitely return there often!

If you are a fan of the chain, mall area restaurants... this great place isn't for you!!! However if you can appreciate feel of a quaint old supper club - give the Capri a try. Their ribs are WONDERFUL, as is the baked french onion soup. There are plenty of other goodies though too... fillets, pork chops, bullheads, frog legs too. The dinners are complimented the old fashioned way with a relish tray & crackers, then salad & soup. It is casual but begs for at least a shower after lawn chores and casual business attire. Best thing lately (but for very unfortunate reasons) is the buy-one-get-one special except for Friday or Saturdays. I hope more people will take advantage of that or 'Doc' has promised that the doors will close for good as of 2012. That'd be a shame and the death of a LONG time Columbus tradition.

Great Food and Atmosphere!
By Kristen D, 5/22/06
The Capri Steak House is like a trip back to the 50's! The food is fantastic, prices are reasonable and the drinks are top-notch! Our party of four arrived at the Capri on a Saturday night without reservations. We had an hour wait ahead of us so we relaxed in the Capri's bar area. One drink is enough, they are strong! My Brandy Old Fashioned was only around $3.00! Once seated in the Capri's cozy dining room, we received a relish tray with vegetables, pasta salad, crackers and awesome cheese spread. Three in our party ordered steaks, one had the fried walleye. Our dinners were between $10 - $15 each. Our salads came first with very fresh dressing. My bleu cheese had big chunks of cheese in it! Soups were one of the best parts of the meal. My fish chowder was creamy and loaded with fish. The corn chowder was full of bacon with a slight southwestern heat. Our steaks were perfect, and the walleye was sweet and crispy. Entrees are served with a choice of potato and vegetable medley. A cup of au jus complimented the steaks. After all that food, we learned a dessert menu and dessert drinks were available. The cheesecakes are so rich, some of the best around. We left the Capri stuffed! The Capri is a great place for a couple's night out. The atmosphere is very 50's and it adds to the charm on this restaurant. Service was prompt and the waitstaff couldn't do enough for us. Even though the Capri is classy, you don't have to dress up all fancy and the waitstaff is not uptight. I can't wait to go back!
