Dinner plate sized pancakes!

No waiting to be seated. The serve breakfast, lunch, or dinner. All are great. The pancakes are the size of a dinner plate. The sandwiches are wonderful. Lots of good choices here, from Prime rib to burgers to spaghetti. They also have great looking desserts if you have room. The service and prices were great here.

Quick Sandwich or Meal

Family Chef could be compared to the chain Denny's. They offer an extensive menu of sandwiches and meals. None of which are outstanding or anything special, but rather are basic fare that would be expected in this type of establishment. Decor is average, as is service and prices. This place isn't memorable, but offers basic food in a casual, low-key environment in downtown Dells. They are only open during peak tourist season and close for the off season.

Decent prices, good variety on the menu, awesome desserts! We loved the old fashioned dessert case displaying cakes, muffins and pies where the taste lived up to the looks. If you are a chocolate lover, you must try the chocolate cake!
