Roosters Restaurant, Racine, Wi. Having lived in Racine 20-some years we eventually found this wonderful little restaurant tucked a bit off the beaten path. At the time we were looking for a good Friday night fishfry and we felt we had finally found it right here. The staff were absolutely the most fun, super-friendly and very efficient. It was like having dinner with a group of friends every time we went there. And seldom did we miss a Friday night fishfry. Lets not overlook the most marvelous rib dinner on Saturdays ! The owners are unbelievably wonderful. I remember one time we remarked how much we like the dessert that comes free with the meal. We learned it was home made by the owners. The next week we went in and of all surprises, they made one pan full of this marvelous tasty treat just for us- to take home ! No charge ! Just an act of kindness. Then it became necessary to relocate and we're now 40 minutes from Roosters .We've tried to find a restaurant around here and there are plenty of options- but the ribs were not so good or far too expensive, the fish has way too much breading or the food in general- not so good. We find ourselves going into racine once or twice a week, that 30-40 min. drive each way, in rain and snow........for those ribs ! They tell me their prime rib is delicious but when I get in the restaurant I can't think of eating anything else but those great ribs- and so I do and I do and I do !!!!!!! When I started to bring my elderly mother in she wanted something not on the menu- a rib sandwich. She got it and all the extras too. When we walk in the door, take a seat at our favorite table no one bothers to hand us a menu. They bring us our soups and salads and soft drinks and put in our orders for those ribs. No waiting around for this or that. Your waitress is nearby and always ready for anything you might need and always a big smile. And you know something else....it's genuine ! These smiles are because they are really happy to see you and serve you and they have smiles because they are treated well by their employers. Happy waitstaff makes for happy customers and this restaurant makes great food at great prices ! Can't beat it- all around great.
