Yen Ching Restaurant Incorporated, Milwaukee

We went to Yen Ching after reading all those positive reviews. However, it turned out to be a very disappointed experience. Food is not right and it is not genuine Chinese cuisine. All dishes are cooked with a strange sweet-sour-brownish sauce and do not taste right. Reception was not friendly as well. Waiter was ok, but he is not knowledgeable about the menu, therefore, he could not tell you which dish is good. If you really want to try this restaurant out, I suggest you order only one dish first.

Food was incredibly bland. Egg roll cabbage was tough and too chewey. Wontons were overcooked and dry. Waiter forgot our tea and was super slow. Main dishes (Ming's Beef & Almond Chicken) were atrocious... flavorless, slimey in texture... and meat was like cow-hide... Almond cChicken had way too many carrots and was equally flavorless... both dishes arrived luke warm. Very disappointed. Highly unlikely that we'll ever return. Didn't have the heart to tell the people at the checkout how bad it was.

Yen Ching is by far the best chinese restaurant in Milwaukee. Not only is their food delicious, but their service is fast and friendly, and the value is outstanding. Whether you're looking for a quick sit-down lunch (in and out within 45 minutes) or a delicious dinner, Yen Ching is the place to go. The ambiance is perfect for meetings, romantic dates, or even going out with the kids. I recommend everyone try Yen Ching!

The way chinese food should be made with a white sauce

This is the BEST Chinese place that I ve found. I especially love their sizzling rice soup! My husband and I adore this restaurant and drive 40 minutes just to eat there. We ve been going there for 8 years. The food is fabulous, but the servers are unforgettable. They ve taken the time to get to know us and know our names when we come in. They even know our regular order. We only go there 4-5 times per year. If you are looking for a nicer Chinese restaurant with great staff, please consider Yen Ching!!! I highly recommend it!

The food here is always good. It's at a busy location here in Milwaukee and they always serve you promptly. I went during lunch and only waited about 1 minute to be seated. Once seated, it only took 10 minutes and my lunch had arrived at my table steaming hot. My only complaint was that the waitress never came back to refill our water. We asked her once, and tried to flag her down a second time, but she never checked on us.

Yen CHing has wonderful food, the folks are friendly, the atmosphere is delightful, just being there makes you feel as though you left Milwaukee behind. Their menu has a wide variety of choices to please and no matter what you've decided to try, it's definately a delicious choice!

I was looking forward to my meal until I scooped rice on my plate, only to find a used kleenex in it. I was so grossed out I couldn't eat- told our waitress, the manager brought over a banana dessert that I didn't want and wouldn't remove the cost of my entree from the bill. Just the name Yen Ching makes me want to puke. I have heard that the food is good, but can't seem to make myself try again.

There are a lot of places that serve egg drop soup .. there are so few that do it well. For starters, they dont' serve the soup in little cups - it comes to your table in a bowl that easily serves 4 people for a starter to your meal (or makes a dinner for 1). The soup itself is filled with bits of egg, carrot, peas, tofu, mushrooms and other goodies .. it's almost a stew. The only reason I don't stop here several times a week is that I live on the opposite side of town. The other food is great as well .. I am a big fan of the sesame chicken, and seafood selections. I have never had a bad meal here, and if you enjoy Chinese cooking, I highly recommend taking a trip to check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Best items on the menu: Hot & Sour Soup, Pot Stickers, Mongolian Beef and Bejing Chicken (boneless). Amazing food no matter what you get! The oweners are family friends so we go here probably once a week. It's clean, smoke free, amazing service and great food...what more could you want? Also a great date place, business lunches, or family restraunt!
