Based on all the hype i've read about this place, I had to try it during my recent visit to Racine.
The Crust, is delicious, there is no denying that. Wafer thin, Cornmeal on the bottom gives it such a delicious flavor.
And from there, it goes a bit south.
The sauce in my opinion tasted like it came from a can. I actually sat there trying to pinpoint the taste to a restaurant up north where i'm from originally. Not saying it's horrible, but i figured with the # 6 ranked pizza in the US, it'd be more than that.
Next, the Sausage. To me, it tasted like your average frozen pizza sausage that you'd get on a Jacks pizza or a Tombstone pizza. Neither of which I'm a fan of.
Aside from those two things, the pizza was delicious. I love crispy, dark/slightly burnt crust, and next time, I'd go with a different meat topping instead of the sausage.
The price was right as well. My date had a cup of broccoli cheese soup, and we shared a 16 inch, two topping pie. All totaled with tip it came out to an even $25, which isn't overly terrible.
I would definitely try this place again.
