strip steak was chewy & more like a sirloin;duckling w/ orange sauce was dry-no effort was made to break thru the drumstick & wing which made it difficult to eat. also ice water was spilled on a diner-no offer of a towel or something to dry was done. diner was miserable thruout meal-a birthday celebration was ruined!!!!! they offered to cancel cost of small bd cake-i insisted that they at least cancel cost of his meal-they did. any restaurant w/ class & great service would have apologized & handled the situation in a more acceptable manner!!!
i love this place good food, nice view, and we love the cozy romantic feel.
there prime rib on Saturday seared on the grill is awesome and their french onion soup is to die for and their fresh calamari is great to start out with.
owners are always on hand and never to busy to have a simple conversation.
this place is great for a night out with the sweetie, takes you back to the days when they still had the nice romantic cozy dark restaurants and you don't have to fight the downtown traffic of fine dinning downtown Milwaukee or Chicago.
On the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan, this Supper Club/Restaurant with 52 years in the Business is excellent all around. The fantastic food, decadent desserts with a Jazz Band and Piano Bar, and Lakefront Dining is sure to please everyone who walks through the door, where you'll receive the finist service!
This place is OK except for one thing, it's not kid friendly. My family, which included my 2 1/2 year old daughter went to this place for a special dinner, and they took one look at my little girl and they shunted us off to a side room. This caused two problems....our server kept having to make special trips back to us, which caused all sorts of delays for things like getting our drinks etc. Also, by not seating us in the dining room, we didn't get the benefit of the nice view they have.
If the restaurant doesn't wish children to partake at their restaurant, I have no problem with that. Just let me know in advance. But don't stick me in a side room so we don't potentiall annoy the other diners. BTW, my daughter is PERFECT on outings, not once in the many times she was in restaurants nicer than this had she made a scene.
I'll never go back to this place.
We will never go there again, the service was terrible, very slow, it took 1/2 hour to get soup another 1/2 to get salad. The meatloaf was cold, the steak was small. The only thing I can say was the view is nice. But they will not have our business again, too many other places in the area to try. It's too bad the place is like walking back in time and the view was pretty.
With a view of Lake Michigan from the dinning room and bar, it's already a treat. Hobnob is known for great food of the steak and lobster type. Service has always been good when we've gone. It's considered a swell night out in our town. One of those places for that special evening. If you find yourself in that area, don't miss it.
