The food at Salute can be good but never outstanding. The service is generally very good and you cannot beat the ambiance. Prices are fair and the selection is average. I won't go out of my way to eat here but I don't avoid it either. Also has an above average wine selection for the area.
I just Love this place, The people, the owners the workers, everything about Salutes is just wonderful. My husband and I love to sit by the window and share a pizza. It's like our little get a way from everything else. Please trust me when I tell you the food is amazing.
Being a consultant I get to travel and visit many restaurants throughout the U.S., Canada and Central America. In one of my visits to Racine, a fellow Floridian recomended I try the restaurant. Not many places do you get to enjoy excellent food, excellent service and an incredible atmosphere. The portions are plentiful and freshly made. Excelent place, you bet I will be back anytime I visit Racine.
A couple of my girlfriends and I were in a couple weekends ago and the food was amazing the service was excellent and even more so the people were great!!! Strangely you won't believe the amount of HOT GUYS that hang out there on a friday night, it's kinda odd there's all types of them white, Italian, black, and ther all ripped, they can't eat here all the time. We go there strictly for the eye candy. Well if your ever in the area stop by it's a package deal!
I love Salute's. How could you not like a place where the owner greats you when you come in and then comes by and checks on you while your eating? The guy's a gem. And that wife of his...she's just a nice as can be and is always smiling.
When you go in...get a pizza right away. I'm telling you...that's how pizza gets done. Capesche? The crust is nice and crunchy. The toppings are fresh and the sauce is to die for. Order the LaNona...its excellent and it Salute's signature Za!
After your done eating, don't get up and walk to the door. Go up to the bar and get a drink. Before you know it...a priest might stop by with a Espresso Martini. Do your self a favor...drink it. It's a one of a kind and a true Salute's original.
Tell them Johnny sent you.
