First of allâ¦I love Italian food. So I am always on the lookout of quality Italian food. Based on previous reviews I decided to take the wife and mother in-law (what a nice guy I am) to this restaurant. It is a bit small (about twelve tables), the décor is nothing special, the staff is unassuming and friendly. Arrived on a Sunday night about 615pm, the place was about half filled, but there seemed to be quite a bit of take-out activity. Once seated, the waitress handed us the menus and took our drink order. Did not notice appetizers on the menu, but was only interested in ordering the meal anyway. I ordered the lasagna dinner, the others ordered the mostaccioli dinner. With the dinner you receive garlic bread, soup (onion or minestrone), salad (only house Italian, ranch, and one otherâ¦cannot remember the other) and spumoni ice cream.
My wife loved the mostaccioli (meat sauce and pasta), and I thoroughly enjoyed the lasagna . We each received garlic bread with the soup/salad portion of the meal, as well as with the dinnerâ¦and these âindividualâ garlic breads are more like loafs of breadâ¦.delicious. The minestrone soup was decent, give it 3.5 out of 5. The salad was a wee bit wilted, but it came with two slices of cheese and two slices of yummy pepperoniâ¦which raises it to 3.5. The garlic bread gets a 4.5. The meal receives a 5.0. The price came out to about $17 bucks per person (soda, tax and tip included)...that's a 5.0. We each had enough food left over for a second meal...and I was hungry. The waitress was prompt and friendly...she gets a 5.0. I live about 50 miles away, and am up in Milwaukee on occasion, I do plan on heading backâ¦want to try the pizza next time. Oh, and the spumoni ice cream was awesome too!
