The Egg Foo Young is the best you'll find anywhere in Milwaukee. Fresh bean sprouts and other vegetables, with the right pillow shape and a great sear. Surprisingly, this is the only menu item worth the money. Egg rolls are tough, greasy, and under-seasoned. Fried dumplings are bland and the meat is full of gristle. Crab Rangoon is filled with a sweet cream cheese (no crab) and served with a sweet & sour dipping sauce. Pressed duck was mealy and stale. LoMein had overcooked vegetables that tasted slightly moldy and the noodles where soft, short, and curly ... like overcooked Raman noodles. Service takes 20-30 minutes from ordering to table. The staff are not especially friendly and make you feel like you're imposing on them. I still go there for a take out order of Egg Foo Young, but I've stopping dining in, or trying new dishes from the menu.
Excellent! Best Chinese food in the SE WI area, no doubt! Check them out over the weekend, plenty and I mean plenty of Asian families are gathering at Fortune for big feast! You know what they say, eat where the local (Asian) eats and it never fails. Service is good, don't understand why some others didn't like their service. Granted the servers' English are not the best but overall very friendly and polite. Prices are going up these days just like everything else so it isn't cheap to eat there no more. My family visit them at least once a week, sometime more for carryouts. Give them a try, I have been eating all over the world and in Asia too, this is the best place to eat. I wish you all Peace and Good Eating.
this was one of the worst restaurant, i've ever been too. The service was terrible, we had to wait forever for our food and refill on water. Then we had to wait twice as long for boxes and our bill. Then the lady had the nerve to yell at us, why we didn't leave them tip. WELL LADY WE DIDN'T LEAVE YOU TIP BECAUSE THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. WE DON'T HAVE TO LEAVE YOU A TIP. The food is ok. I would not recommend anyone going to this dump, unless you want to go and try the terrible service. They seem more interested in help a table of 5 people. They never came to check on us to see if we wanted more rice or water. I don't care what anyone rates this crap. I had a terrible experience and would NEVER NEVER go back. There are alot of Chinese restaurant around that I rather give them my business.
I can't believe people gave this dump four and five stars. I stopped for lunch and the food was very cheap and poor quality. There's better places within five minutes. The service was slow and the food was bad. Don't eat here.
This is my favorite place to eat when it comes to a sit down dinner at a Chinese Restaurant. I haven't found any place better yet. My favorite dishes are the Seafood Superior Soup, Salty Fish Fry Rice, Salty Squid Fish Shrimp Combo, Beef (fat) Noodles, & More that I haven't tried yet. This is the best of Chinese Food.
Being a vegetarian, I find it very hard to eat out. Most places have only one veggie option and I get fed up very soon! The Fortune Chinese restaurant (in HALES CORNERS) is a great place for vegetarians (and my husband will vouch for the meat dishes, of which they have many!)...their food is fresh and tasty (unlike some other chinese restaurants i've been to), the choices are abundant - they have a separate english and chinese menu, and the chinese menu has a lot of veggie options too - the steamed buns are simply wonderful :) Reminds me of home! Service was great, we didn't have to call them for water or anything else, they were always coming around to see if we needed anything else. Its great for take out too, you can call and order ahead and service is fast.
