Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, West Bend

I have been to this resturaunt 2 times and I will not go back. The prices are way to high for relatively generic food and the place itself is dingy. I have had to pull a strand of hair out of my meal both times and I felt like I was a burden to be sitting in the resturaunt. The servers are polite, some more than others, but I will not go back. The health department seriously needs to pay them a visit.

They have dark wallpaper for a reason, and you can see the dirty smears in just the right light. could use some updating for sure. Hadn't been to a Perkins in a long time, first big shocker was the prices...my gosh! To pay $8 for breakfast items, not to mention most of their lunches appeared in the same high price range. They seemed to have a great selection, and the sandwiches and wraps looked great, but there's absolutely no way I'd pay $8 for a BLT. Ordered my favorite, eggs benedict from a large selection. Apparently they were short waiters...quite a long wait for our food, then someone else finally brought it out (semi-cold). With funky yellow colored plates---I had to look twice to even see my food, which was deeply smothered in some sort of bland yellow sauce (not hollandaise--not cheese) with a very small portion of hashbrowns (maybe 1/4 cup at most?) Used some kind of cheap margarine for the english muffin (if not just cooking oil). Real butter would've helped tremendously. They asked me what kind of breakfast muffin I wanted (which would've been nice during the long wait for the food) which I didn't get until after we were finished eating. Waited a long time for the bill....to top it off, you pay for your bill in the bakery on the way out. Bad choice, of course they're hoping you'll buy something, but there should be a separate place to just pay and go, otherwise you end up waiting twice as long as the people in front of you each begin browsing the bakery mid transaction...Oh yeah, I'd skip the mini muffins, one of the two girls in front of us took a few nibbles off of one, and put it back, and the other young girl had a hacking cough...right in the muffins....ick!!!!

Food was terrible. Restaurant was dirty and run down. I gave one star for the mere fact we didn't get sick from the food. This establishment is an embarrassment to West Bend.

I took my sons girlfriend out to lunch at this Perkins. It was awful! Dirty run down and the food was poor at best. I would recommend the health department stop by. I go to Perkins and I have never seen one in this condition. Someone should do something Perkins good name is being dragged through the mud. Regards, Julie D West Bend, WI
