Mary Ann Hartung Voigt was the youngest of 3 children born to a first generation immigrant family that originated in Hungary. Her mother was widely known as a wonderful cook. Hungarian cuisine is well-known as being ingenious, flexible, imaginative, and full of flavor. Hungarians are known for their love of life, love and food...perhaps in reverse order! Even as a young child, Mary Ann took a special interest in her mother's creative cooking. There never seemed to be a recipe - just a dash of this and a pinch of that. Soups, a specialty at Dockside Deli, are nearly always a bit different. No one knows the precise amounts, but it is always a creative and delicious combination. Come to Port Washington for a fresh and delicious meal!
Hit or miss. I've had it good, I've had it bad. Bread is fresh? Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. They tell you what's in your food? Sometimes. Sandwiches have shrunk in size. Depending on who is working, you get your sandwich different almost every time, high schoolers there used to be notorious for this. Good for the yachters, the out of towners walking the break wall, or a quick bite while fishing. A bit overpriced for the portion.
It's all about location and Dockside Deli has the best location in Port Washington! It doesn't get any better than sitting on their outdoor patio during the summer months. Dockside Deli offers a variety of delicious options for all meals...you can't find a better grilled cheese and tomato soup special!! Their desserts are fabulous too, regardless of how many calories you're looking to consume.
Dockside Deli is a great place to try if you are tired of all the unhealthy and blah food choices in the world. I want to know what's in my food, and there is something yummy for whatever my mood. Plus, their desserts are all homemade and fabulous!

Whenever friends or family are visiting Port Washington, we always recommend Dockside Deli! The homemade soups and made to order sandwiches are fantastic and the outdoor seating provides beautiful views of our harbor on Lake Michigan.
As for me, it's the perfect spot for coffee with my girlfriends or a bite of lunch....it fact, I'd headed there right now!
Port Washington, WI
August 12, 2010. My wife Barb and I go from Glendale to Port Washington to the Dockside Deli about three times a month. We love their sandwiches. Barb loves the quesadilla and I like the variety of sandwiches and choice of breads. We always get a malt and the malts taste just like an old fashioned malt should taste! We bring the dog and eat outside overlooking the harbor. It is so pleasant and the food is something unlike anything we can get at most other places.
We love it.
I have enjoyed all the soups, sandwiches, and desserts that I have eaten at the Dockside Deli. I have never been disappointed. It's hard to decide what to have because everything on the menu sounds so good.
I had lunch at the Dockside Deli and it was wonderful. There is a great selection of soups, sanwiches, healthy stuff and desserts that are homemade.
I especially liked the fact that they made the place larger so that you can have lunch inside and outside and view Lake Michigan while you are eating.
It's a great place to eat!
Dockside Deli is one of my favoirte places for lunch. The harbormaster sandwich is very good and have fresh and unique ingrediants. The location is wonderful overlooking the Port Washington marina. Great place to stop for a lunch if you are out walking or on a bike ride.
