Love this place! Have been coming here for many years. The best Chinese food in town. I usually get Cashew chicken. The Crab rangoons and egg drop soup are sooo good. The best egg drop soup I've ever had! Oh and their Kiddie Cocktail are really good. If you like a little alcohol their Drinks are amazing! :)
Went recently for lunch the Garlic chicken was quite good, as were the crab rangoons. The service left a bit to be desired. They do not have highchairs there - so don't plan on having a baby eat with you. We had to take turns holding the baby while the other ate. We felt like they were hostile about us even bringing a baby in there and felt that they were trying to rush us out. Not very family friendly.
By far the greatest crab rangoons ever. Service is always nice and prompt. I have had many dishes there, all great. My favorite is cashew chicken, you must try it! Have tried many many other chinese joints, even Yen Ching in Davenport. Nothing compares to Clinton Yen Ching! I cannot express how good there food is. :0)
Great food, bad service. Glasses sat empty until we asked for the check then finally got refills. Waiter didn't give options for the meals, just assumed what we wanted with them. Soup type, rice type. If the food wasn't amazing I would go else where for better service. Too bad it's the only place from Kansas City to Clinton that I like.
This is by far the best Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at! I have never had anything that wasn't fantastic. Our server has always been super friendly and super attentive as well. Really, I don't think you can go wrong!
Great food, decent prices. It is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area although I have had better, specifically in Chicago. I will agree with some of the previous post, the Hostess is sometimes impersonal and somewhat rude but I can say over the years shes gotten better. To sum it up, if you want good Chinese in Clinton Iowa, this is your BEST choice.
The prices to me were outrageous for dinner, when there is better food and service for chinese food in Clinton.
The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour, the Generals chicken was the worst i ever had.
I know people who love the place, but I was sorely disappointed.
In town for the day, I found this place for lunch. I had the Cashew Chicken for the nice price of $4.75. It was different than Cashew Chicken I'd had in other Chinese restaurants. It was all breaded chicken, with some cashews and some small green onions; there were no vegetables in it (though there are clearly other menu items with vegetables). It had a very tasty sauce and the chicken seemed to be of good quality. The lunch came with fried rice, an excellent bowl of soup, and a crabmeat rangoon. The crabmeat rangoon had just the right amount of filling. I appreciated that they left a pitcher of water at my table for refills. The service was friendly, professional, and prompt. The restaurant itself is somewhat large for an Iowa Chinese restaurant. It was very clean and it appeared to be a good spot for dinner as well.
