Ge-Jo's by the Lake Italian, Clear Lake

As a local, I am saddened that people think this is great Italian. There s another reviewer who was spot on. The staff was very polite. However, everything about the food screamed, grocery store . The lettuce salad? There was a pool of water on the bottom. The rolls were from a grocery store. The tiny ravioli plate looked like a frozen dinner, and the marinara sauce on my bland canoli was a dead ringer for Chef Boyardee. This place is decent, if it would cost half as much. You want Italian? Go 8 miles east.

I have eaten from Maine to Spain and my favorite meal is at Gejos. Their Grinder with the hot peppers is unreal and reasonably priced! Get some marinra on the side and you will thank me for the best sandwich you have ever eaten! Take this advice a guy who likes to eat, you will enjoy. Kurt

The absolute best Italian food in the midwest. The food is well worth the extra few minutes you wait. They are always packed so you may have to take a number, but you wont regret waiting. I recomend the lasagne, while my girlfriend would recomend the pizza (she loved it). We make a point to eat there everytime we go to Clear Lake. The staff is very friendly, and the owners even sat down and said hello to us and asked us how our meals were. They deserve the extra tip we always give them. If you ever go to Clear Lake, Iowa, you simply MUST stop at Ge-Jos, you wont be disappointed, because so far we haven't been.

Fantastic italian, all from scratch. Recipes that are original, as is any Natomeli special (be it pasta, or pizza) as well as the pizza that cannot be beat. The service is slow, but as a former waitress, it is because of the attention to detail with the food. Join the slow food movement.
