Jade Garden Chinese Restaurant, Ankeny

After moving to Ankeny the rumor was that this is the best Chinese Restautant in town. Unfortunately, two take out order s later and 7 different items on the menu have made that rumor false. The food is bland and the texture of everything including the meat is that of a slimy noodle. There are many better options out there dont waste your money at Jade.

if you want generals raw chicken soup,this is the place!horrible,and would not offer an alternative dish.pretty much told to f.o.

L I just ate there and thought it was great. the chicken dishes were great,crab ragoons,egg rolls,rice, and service all good. I cant wait to go back !!!! cost was about $23 for two w/o drinks just with water and their tea

Jade Garden has been the best Chinese restaurant for years in Ankeny. Our family love the foods there. My two daughtes worked there when they were in high school. We went there last week when they came home from college. We ordered dinner for four persons.two hot & sour soups, two Sizzling rice soups, four egg rolls and four meals, Mongolian Beef, Mandarin Beef, Crispy Shrip, and General Chicken. They all are very good and tasty. Good foods and good services. We love Jade!

I went went to the Jade Garden with some friends, and had to wait almost half an hour after we were seated before we could place our orders. It was another half hour before we actually got anything, and instead of crab rangoon, we were given cream cheese wontons. The entrees, when we finally got them were warm at best, either over-seasoned or bland, and the vegetables were undercooked. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Both my husband and I thought the food here was extremely bland. I am not an adventurous eater and don't like spicy food, but even I thought the sauce that my broccoli dish came in was nothing more than corn starch and water. It was flavorless, almost colorless, and a strange texture. My husband ordered a spicy dish and said his was bad, too. We didn't even bother taking the leftovers home.
