Salvatore's Italian Restaurant, Grand Rapids

Thank you Salvatore's for a FABULOUS dining experience! We just had our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner at your restaurant and everything was perfect - the food, the service, and even the personalized menu! The staff was very accomodating beginning to end! What a great evening you provided!

This is going to be long and painful, so bear with me. We just moved to GR and wanted to dabble a little in the local food market. We ended up here bc my husband loves Italian food and it is not too far from our house. Everything was wonderful when we walked in. Nice greeting, the decor was lovely and it smelled great. Then everything went downhill. Our waitress took 10 minutes to come talk to us. She was flustered, disorganized, distracted and acted like it was her first day on the job. I noticed the other waitresses being diligent and timely and knew we had been shafted and stuck with the new girl When we got our meal (45 minutes later) it was cool and mine was not made how I had ordered it. When she came back to ask how it was (15 min later) I asked her to take it away and take it off my bill. She gave me this look like she had never heard anyone say something like that before. Wow. I mean here it is, Salvatore's... If you are going to charge $11 for a plate of spaghetti that's fine. But if I am going to pay $11 for a small portion of food it had better be damn good! And it had better be delivered by a person I don't mind dishing out a 25% tip to! I bet there are things on the menu that I would love! I will never find out though because your service reflects who you are and I would frankly rather spend my $11 elsewhere. When I go out to eat I am paying for an experience and the people that work there are suppose to contribute to that in a good way. I have read other reviews and one in particular from 2008 talks about this same waitress I am speaking about named Marcy. Turns out she wasn't the new girl. She's been there since at least 2008! I am giving this place 1 star in hopes that someone who manages this place reads these reviews and does something about this waitress.

Thank you SALVATOREs for excellent Food & Service to the Siedlecki/ Tocco friends and family during our mourning. My father loved your spaghetti and meatballs, what a way to honor my father by serving his favorite food. I appreciate all your kindness from the Tinervia family the staff provided to us during this time.

I love the food taste! Does anyone know the name of there cook in the 1990's I'm not sure if he went back to italy if anyone know's let me know thanks.

My favorite Italian restaurant in Grand Rapids. I currently live overseas, and everytime I come home a visit to Salvatore's is a must.

I first had Sal n Zena's home cooked meals back in 1980, when I came to Grand Rapids attending GRJC as a freshman.! I can not think of another Italian restaurant in/around Grand Rapids that even comes close to its taste in food and friendly atmosphere. The staff go out of their way to make you feel like family and I have NEVER left there either feeling hungry or 'out of pocket'.

Great food! Good menu selection. Great prices for portion size! All homemade authentic Italian food. Friendly staff with great service. Great restaurant to take the whole family.

This place has the best Italian food in Grand Rapids. The food is always great, the service is excellent, and you won't go home broke or hungry. I highly recommend giving them a try.
