84 East, Holland

Well, I don't know what happened. I eat here often. a mix between lunch and dinner. Over the last few months every meal of mine has been off putting and lacking flavor. I am not one to complain, just a man that will stop coming in and recomending it to my clients. The kitchen needs to take a strong look at what their providing and then GM needs to be catching it in the first place or the future will not include 84 as one of the long standing restaurants in Holland in the years to come

Very bad experience. Waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes due to the restaurant's broken pager. (No apologies from staff) Even though over 10 tables set vacant. Waited another 45 minutes for dinner when it finally arrived the Steak was way overcooked, we sent it back. ( I would have appreciated if they would offered to take take my dinner back as well, and reheat it so that I could eat with my wife, never offered.) The food was very bland and nothing special. Waitress was really slow, never checked on us. I finally had to ask the bartender if I could pay our bill only to be told she was the only person that could do it. I then had to track her down. Even though the manager was well aware she did nothing to improve the situation, even offer a desert. With service like this I would never consider going back. Management does not know to run the dining or kitchen. I'll avoid this place next time.

As a quasi-Hollander, by marriage and frequent visits to the city, my wife and are are well acquainted with good places to grab dinner. On our regular list is 84 East, one of those restaurants in Holland catering to regular townies as well as the summer shore crowd.While it may stay on my wife's list it will definitely not be mine. Lackluster service, at least from our waitress, mixed with bad food created a rather big disappointment for what are usually great culinary experiences when we visit. If you chose to drop in skip the carbonara and opt instead for the baked spaghetti pie. Otherwise, expect a bland flavor from the house alfredo (so skip some of the other dishes with this base sauce) and an after-taste you cannot quite place but just won't go away fast enough.Well, I am off to try and fix the food I brought home with or on second thought I am going to eat the reminder of my wife's meal which she really enjoyed! Summary - There are other better places to eat for the price, quality and service.

We may be waiting a while to eat this food again. I heard good things about it but 10 minutes after eating both of us had gut wrenching pain. It's the next day and my stomach is still gurgling in anxiety from the Spaghetti pie. It wasn't rich, it tasted a little bland.

Great casual dining! This is a good place to go after the tulip festival and is on the main drag through town. They have great italian specialties - loved the spaghetti pie, unique and very flavorful. Also the shrimp dish over pasta was fab and HUGE.

One of my favorite restaurants. Great prices for the food that you get (you will have leftovers) and excellent pasta. I am picky when it comes to pasta, but this is great. The Shrimp Louisianne, is to die for!

Cool atmosphere, good value. My favorite is the bowtie pasta. There are fancier italian resteraunts around, but 84 East is well worth the price.

Good food, but the wait staff was rather rude. From the time we were seated, it seemed that our waitress was trying to hurry us up to leave. This should instead be a take out only restaurant not a dine in. Once the waitress discovered that we weren't in a hurry to leave, she became none existent. We would have liked to order more drinks, but no one to be found. We then decided to leave, but no wait staff stopped to pick up my card to pay for the bill. I then took the bill to the register myself and it was interpreted that I was trying to leave without paying. So, I gathered that they don't want you eating there and paying your bill. I WILL NOT GO THERE AGAIN AND WILL TELL OTHERS OF THIS EXPERIENCE ALSO...

Eclectic menu, trendy atmosphere, great food and wonderful service. Definitely in my Top 5 Holland restaurants. Please bring back the Thai Pizza, though. It was GREAT.
