My husband & I stopped there for lunch The people are really nice (what a nice change). The food was great!! You get more than your money's worth-generous sized portions. On our way out I spotted the fresh baked goods. Needless to say we left with a pie and a few other things. I bake and actually quite well, but I must say that was the best cherry pie I've ever had!! I'm calling next week to place an order for thanksgiving!!
This is a very charming, nostalgic restaurant. The decor is old-fashioned yet clean and a lot of fun. Service is excellent and friendly. The food is delicious, with homemade pies and baked goods, wonderful sandwiches, and the best homemade beef vegetable soup I have ever had in my entire life anywhere. Wonderful restaurant! Definitely one of the best in Newaygo County and worth a drive.
If you are looking for fresh home baked goods, pies, cakes, then serch no more.
The place to go is the Grant Depot, in Grant Mi.
When they bring you a sandwitch, you had better be hungry, or share it with a friend.
I have never been able to eat all of my food at one setting.
The service is top of the line, and your coffie cup is never empty.
Not that far from where you live and you will enjoy your meal because i told you so.
So why not get the gang togeather and swing over there and have a meal that you will never forget.
I have eaten in most of the eaterys in the area and i consider myself well advised as to what is good and what to stay away from.
Bring your camera and take a picture of the old water tower next door to the depot.
Save room for desert, and you can take home some of their home baked goods yum yum.
I have been there many times and i always return for good home cooking.
You can not miss it, because it is in the center of town on the left side of the street.
Stop in and say hello to the owners and do not fail to tell them how much you enjoyed your stay.
If i keep talking i will get hungry and have to jump in my auto and buzz over there.
See you there
This is the best destination place in Grant. A very cozy, home-town establishment with great food and an awesome wait staff. They make my son and I feel at home, catering to any special needs and requests. If you're a railroading fan, the ambiance is incredible. Ask to see the railroaders guest book... a history of customers with railroading backgrounds with neat notes about when they may have worked on the Pere Marquette line.
Don't leave without dessert, carrot cake is a personal favorite!
