My first time eating at Jackie's was fifteen years ago and I've gone 5-25 times a year since then (minus last year because of the fire). I've been there twice since it was rebuilt, and the food tastes exactly the same. They seem to have fresh ingredients and I'm fairly certain they use real eggs, unlike at Denny's or IHOP. But the reason Jackie's Place gets 5 stars is because of the pancakes. Everything else tastes good, pancakes taste like heaven. They are thin, crispy, and amazing. I don't know why everyone seems to think pancakes are the best when they're fluffy because they taste the best when they're thin and crispy. Well don't miss out on the breakfast of a lifetime!!
Love this place. I go almost every week. We gotta go before 11a.m. to get the deals but food is fast and they have the best pancakes in town! Went there for my sister's 6th birthday and they suprised her by singing to her. Everyone in the restaurant joined by clapping. It was the best.
I have been in Jackies enough to be glad to see it re-open. However I doubt I will be back. When it burned I had find other resturaunts in town to frequent. Today in one such an establishment, a Jackies employee came in and made a scene, picking out Jackies regulars and loudly announcing that they won't be here next week, she would see them back at Jackies. Completely classless. i wouldn't have blamed this other resturaunt if they had asked her to leave, but they handled it in a way the offender must be unfamilar with. Shame on this person, and Jackies too if they condoned it. It has turned me off, none of my money will find my way into her pocket.
Jackie's Place is great! The breading for their fish etc. is nice and light. Be sure take advantage of the weekly specials that you see in the Holland Sentinel and be wary of their tomato sauce because they add sugar to it.
Otherwise this place is great to eat at if you like the smaller restaurant atmosphere and you need your WiFi fix.
