Sal's has new owners since January of this year and its just not the same. Food is more expensive and it's not quite so homey any more. It's a bit more upscale, which was totally not necessary. It was fine the way it was. We went there today for the second time since it changed hands and I'm not sure that we will be going again, which is sad .... we used to be frequent customers.
I love SALS.!!.It is low key, homey and friendly. So if you're looking for fancy SHMANCY..it's NOT. But, the BEST pizza, YES!! The menu has a lot to chose from and I have never been unhappy with my food..especially egg plant parmigiana..YUM!!!. So it's geared for anyone's appetite. My husband asks , O.k., where do you want to go (and we don't go a LOT) so I pick something I know I will enjoy......I almost always say...SALS!!
Very nice restaurant and the food is good, can get really busy and full but the staff handle it really well. Tables are a bit cozy close for my taste but that is just me. Well worth trying if you have not been,
We really like Sal's restaurant. The food is good. The service is friendly and generally fast (unless they are very busy). Friday & Saturday evenings are quite busy - which is a good sign. They have been a staple in Tecumseh for many years & have a good reputation.
We have been going here for years. The Italian food is good, portions are generous, and the service is usually good. On rare occasions the service is slow and occasionally the deep dish pizza is burned. We keep going back because the service is always personable and friendly, usually prompt, and the pizza is the best in town when it isn't burned. We haven't tried menu items that aren't Italian because there are other local restaurants that specialize in things like steak, Mexican, and fish so we go there when we want those things.
My family and I have been going to Sal's Italian Restaurant in Tecumseh now for at least 18 years. When Sal actually ran the place, what brought us back again, and again was his incredible sauce. His pizza was probably one of the best around: lots of sauce, thick stringy Mozerella Cheese and generous on the toppings. Today, that fine tradition has been carried on in Tecumseh, and at the Adrian location which is called Sal's II. I personally reccomend all of the Italian pasta dishes (including the eggplant parmesian, my personal favorite). Dinner for two with enrtrees, wine, dessert and coffee will run between $40-$50, but well worth it. If you seek great Italian food, you can not go wrong at this place. I prefer the Tecumseh location personally.
