On short notice, the restaurant made room for a party of 30 with really just a half-hour's notice with tables set up to accommodate! Service was very good, with orders taken quickly and fulfilled in good time.
Unfortunately, half of our group was unprepared for the fare and were in need of more budget-friendly prices, and were unwilling to stay.
Though portion sizes were modest (though completely reasonable if you aren't looking to stuff yourself), the food was delivered in good time and was very delicious (the concensus from those there), from the Burger, to the Stacked Naan, to the Guinness Beef.
Also, it's surprisingly efficient for a restaurant with such a small kitchen that is no larger than a Subway Subs Restaurant's, and just as open and exposed to the patrons. I found this a nice change from the local norm, and glad to see they are so confident as to allow patrons to see them preparing their food in the open!
So, in conclusion, the Aries London Grill-Bombay has a great London atmosphere to enjoy dining in, with great service, good staff, and tasty food. It is not a place where you will get a 16 oz. steak and a plate of sides for $10, but if you're looking for an English/Indian menu in Plainwell, and are willing to pay a few extra bucks beyond Applebee's prices, I would recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I were introduced to this place three years ago and no every birthday and aniversary and any excuse we find ourselves selecting this place over any other in a 45 mile radius of Allegan. In the summer a couple men with accordians and viloins' play and sing, laughter raises the ceiling, the guiness is thick and cold and the atmosphere is incredible.
It's a tiny little place though and quickly fills up, so if its the weekend you'd better get there right when the doors open if you don't want to stand around stuffed in a back corner with twenty other people on your shoulders waiting for a table.
Get the dessert: Sticky Toffee, you will thank me!
