Order their pizza. They have authentic Italian food but their pizzas especially. Chicago folks 'got nuttin' on them. Order the pizza with tomato and ga'lic, cuz. I'm tell you ... you'll get real tomato wedges and perfectly roasted garlic to satisfy any foodie or expert. My friends always get the Spinach Pizza Pie. I hear it's wonderful but I never get away from my favorites. The pasta is ideal, too. I hear they have a pretty nice buffet on Sundays. Lots of choices.
I enjoy the food because I love Italian food, it is a simple resturant, not quite the family setting but yet not to fancy if you want to take your family for dinner. It is a little on the pricey side so if you want to impress a date with paying to much for good food this is the place to take her. Dress up or casual dress would work well here.
I have gone to South Haven every summer for the past 10 years, and this is my favorite place to eat. Their stuffed pizza is amazing and foccatia bread is to die for. I have read the bad reviews before I posted mine and how they complained about pretty much everything. I have never had poor service in all the years I have gone, but from my experience with working in the restuarant business, some people are just born complainers. Everything in the world could be right and they would still find something to complain about. This restuarant is amazing but I suggest you try it for yourself.
We have been to Southhaven the last several summers but ate here for the first time this year. The food was excellent (huge portions) and service was goodwith a fair price and easy parking. The decor is a bit outdated but if you want art you go to a gallery, if you want food you go to a resturant.
Probably one of my favorite places in South Haven. We stumbled upon it when we didn't want to wait an hour and a half at another local restaurant. It's also a pretty busy place (since it opens at 4:00p) so you may have to wait a bit to get a table. The setting is within an old church so it make it quite interesting. I highly recommend ordering the Antipasto appetizer – very delicious! It comes with this foccacia type bread, olives, and a couple different meats and cheeses. The pizza was very tastey too. If you don't want to wait for a table just place a take-out order and I'm sure it'll be just as good.
We ate at the Vineyard last evening and were very disappointed with our experience. We went with two other couples and were seated at a table right under a ceiling fan that was going full blast, we did'nt even want to take our coats off because it was so cold. We asked the waitress if she could turn it down or off she said she would check and never came back or did anything about it, so we moved on our own to a different table. Also 6 people is considered a lge group so our bill was all in one w/ an 18% gratutity. We asked to have it split and the manager screwed it all up & then was very rude when asked to fix it. Won't go back again. The pizza was OK but not worth the bad treatment. Should have paid attention to the other reviews!
Horrible experience! Our waitress (ALMA) barely took our order, forgot drinks until after another server reminded her, food was lukewarm at best. After our food was served she did not ask if we needed anything else and never returned. Couldn't even eat 1/2 the food it was so cold. Had to go to counter to pay and she had to be tracked down by another server to give us the check. She did not even apologize for the wait or lack of service. $50 dollars down the tube could have eaten at Mcdonald's for a week, would have been preferred. Suffice to say, a waste of time and money.
P.S. only reason I give 2 stars instead of one. The alcoholic drink was good.
Only go if you have a couple of hours to waste and be served cold food. We dined there on 06/13/10 . The server approached the table what do you want to drink, No hello, how are you or anything. When the drinks were brought to the table we gave our order. There was only 10 tables in the restaurant and three servers so it wasn't like they were packed. 47 min. after my order was taken I had to ask the hostess if there was a problem, she went to the server and asked. The server then came to me and said I think they gave your food to someone else. She went to the kitchen brought out my pizza no plates and said it just came up. She then went to get me plates. The pizza was ice cold. Never once came by my table to see if we needed anything or if everything was ok. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE SUMMER GUEST..
