Stray Dog Bar & Grill, New Buffalo

Good location, lovely view, comfortable decor. My husband thinks the hamburgers are very good, but fries are frozen and nothing special. I had the fish tacos -- mediocre. Talapia was NOT crispy as advertised, and entire dish was flavorless. I would expect more from a restaurant that caters to the well-heeled from Chicago (we re not, but I do know a good fish taco when I eat one!).

OMG!!!! I am from California, and went to Michigan for Vacation with my Boyfriend to visit his family and friends. He took me here, and It was awesome! I had the best hot dog I have ever tasted in my life!!!! It was stuffed with cheese, wrapped in Bacon, and smothered in caramelized onions! I had poppers as the appetizer, and had fries with it! They also had a great, cool, friendly, very clean atmosphere. The location is very nice also, right on Lake Michigan beach! It was cold and snowing out, so most of the town was shut down, but I bet this town would be great in the summer! This will be a definite must go to on our next trip to Michigan!!!!

We went 4th of July weekend and loved it. The shirts are so fun too. We ate there twice in the 3 days we were in New Buffalo. Easy casual place to eat. Kid friendly and good food.

I would never eat here again. Way over priced and TERRIBLE food. Had a bad steak sandwich and manager didn't seem to care. Called the owner, Leslie, and she said I was lying about my experience. Never have I been treated so bad at a restaurant.

I guess I'm in the dark about the bad food at Stray Dog...I love it! First of all though, my favorite is the Stray Dog beer they have on tap. Sooo good. Secondly, I love stopping in when they have live music, especially if it's a nice night and the rooftop is open. Great music downstairs, great view of the lake upstairs. Now on to the food - I have had just about everything the Stray Dog has to offer and my favorite is, the Stray Dog. Yeah, so there's nothing HEALTHY about a deep fried hot dog wrapped in bacon. But it's sooo good. And their house salad is super yummy! Their BBQ chicken pizza (which all pizza is served late into the night...) is just the ticket to go with your beer! I go probably once a month - just love the atmosphere and the food!
