Old Burdick's Bar & Grill
Old Burdick's Bar & Grill has been a downtown Kalamazoo institution since 1991. Also, there are now three other Old Burdick's locations; At Holiday Inn West, Wings West, and Wings Stadium. All four restaurant locations feature the best sandwiches, burgers, salads and entrees, as well as a great selection of cocktails, wines and beers.
I'm always so torn about Burdicks. It is such a great location! It is also a really nice atmosphere, with its wooden floors and outdoor seating. Unfortunately this is about the only thing it has going for it. The food is usually pretty bland and disappointing. But hands down, the worst part about this place is the service. I have had several servers basically act like it was such a pain to wait on my table and even be rude. Some people just shouldn't wait tables and most of those people work at Burdicks. Perhaps with a change of management, staff, and head chefthis could be one of the more enjoyable places to hang out in K-zoobut right now, it's just not that great.
I like to give an establishment at least a few chances to impress me. Burdicks is not living up to its wood floors and fancy exterior. I'd rate the service as marginal at best. Last night my food was brought out with 3 other tables, needless to say it was nearly cold. Not a place to impress a date or clientel. As far as I can see its only good for hang-over food on Saturdays when everything is half off and you don't care about service.
I arrived in Michigan and was shocked that a family sports bar/restaurant would allow cigarette smoking, sadly they do.
as for this restaurant. It has a confused identity and is by far the worst service of any bar i have been in anywhere in the world and I ahve been to many places
the food is probably a step above fast food.
The choices of beers and monthly special beer prices were very good. Bartenders are young,
no personality, One can tell they are in a hotel bar. The bartenderes lack any time of customer service or humour
