Excellent food, good company. Got there at 8:00 on Sunday to see a line outside. (They open at 8.00) There was one seat left at the counter after we sat. Good thing we didn't get there at 8:05. We probably didn't eat until 8:45 but the coffee just kept a comin' and the wait was fun and worth it. Yes, the food is cooked right there. American fries are the best I have ever had and the hash browns were all of the way cooked---nice and done, which hardly ever happens. I give them a *10* for potatoes. I like my potatoes done! Also, the coffee is fresh ground and thus not cheap-tasting like you get at most hometown diners.
A morning I will not forget.
Went there this morning for the first time! Will be back! Kick-butt breakfast! Killer home fries! Took our 1yr old son, and he loved watching all of the people. Never, heard a peep from him with all to look at! Get there EARLY, tables fill fast! Can't wait to try the waffles, and the french toast, and the mother trucker, and the.....
Best breakfast joint in Mid Michigan, period!
Cozy place with cool interior. Food cooked in front of you. Great sausage. Great omelets. Great breakfast burritos. Great everything.
Only drawback: may have to wait 5 - 20 minutes but its worth it!
Golden Harvest will not let you down. Yes, they are understaffed. Yes, you will wait for your food. Yes, it's small.
But so what, the food is great, it's made right in front of you, and it's fresh. It's made from scratch; wait it out. Prices are more than fair for what you get. I guess you need to ask yourself whether you want a Egg McMuffin value meal for $5, or a breakFEAST for $7.50.
I suppose a downside is that they're only open until 2:30 in the afternoon, but look at it as an excuse to get out of bed at a reasonable hour.
Caveat: It's cash only, but I'm sure that's no issue for ya, you high-roller, you.
Very small, cozy restaurant with great service and wonderful food. One of the best places around town for breakfast, which is cooked basically in front of you. Large portions, delicious food, great place - and inexpensive, too!
For more than 40 years, the GH has been serving up home-cooked food that would make mom smile. A tiny place that demands a wait on busy mornings, the GH will not let you go untill you are stuffed. Great home fries, hashbrowns, pancakes, egg creations and so on. Funky-good service with big smiles and enthusaiasm.
