We went to this restaurant for my daughter's 20th birthday. First the waitress's knowledge of the foods was very limited. Then our order took 45 minutes to get to the table. Lastly, all of the food was cold when it was served. Cold rice and potstickers made this a memorable experience. This should not be your first choice when eating Chinese food in Mt Pleasant.
First off-the food is ok. Portions are TINY compared to other local Chinese establishments. Ordered for lunch while at work-order took more than an hour to arrive-about 45 minutes after our lunch hour started. She forgot 1/3 of our order and took another 40 minutes to get back to our office with it. (We are about 7 minutes away.) She forgot the rice, too, but I didn t bother-I figured it might arrive by tomorrow morning! Offered a measly discount of $6 on a $33 order. Should have been free as far as I was concerned. VERY DISAPPOINTED! We will never order or eat there again.
For voted best Chinese I thought we would give it a shot. I ordered General Tso chicken and my gf ordered Lo Mein with beef. Mine was OK, chicken was crispy and sauce was fairly spicy. Hers was horrible. The meat was mush and the noodles were plain spaghetti noodles not even the thicker lo Mein noodles. Wont go there again. If you want good Chinese, go to Great wall buffet or dragon express.
Tried this restaurant on a road trip and have actually thought about it several times since stopping. The food here was excellent. They have a large vegetarian selection with reasonable prices and good service. Would suggest the AMAZING vegetarian orange chicken.
China Garden is the best Chinese restaurant in town. Every other one is buffet based, while this is a sit-down, order your meal... so that does make a difference. The food is excellent, the atmosphere decent, the service good every time I ve been here. It s a family favorite - I suggest ordering multiple items and sharing ;) The Crab Rangoons and Egg rolls cannot be beat by any else as appetizers.
